Foodhallen is one of the best places to experience Amsterdam’s food scene under one roof. Set inside a beautifully restored former tram depot, the atmosphere is vibrant, lively, and full of energy from the moment you walk in. It perfectly combines the charm of an industrial market with the excitement of international street food.
We loved the incredible variety of food. The gourmet bitterballen tasting was a highlight, especially the truffle, bouillabaisse, spinach-old cheese, and Thai-inspired flavors. We also tried loaded hot dogs, crispy fries, corn, delicious desserts, and enjoyed everything with ice-cold Heineken and refreshing cocktails. Every dish was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor.
The best part is that everyone can order something completely different while still eating together. Whether you’re looking for traditional Dutch snacks or international cuisine, there’s something for every taste.
Despite being busy, the atmosphere remained welcoming and fun, making it a perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon or evening with friends.
If you’re visiting Amsterdam, Foodhallen is an absolute must. Come hungry—you’ll want to try far more than you originally planned! Highly recommended.
We had a really nice lunch at Foodhallen and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The variety of food is fantastic—we had Mexican tacos, Indonesian chicken, and fries and nuggets from The Butcher, and everything was tasty and freshly prepared. We also enjoyed a couple of great cocktails from the bar, which complemented the meal perfectly. The atmosphere is lively and vibrant, making it a great place to relax and try different cuisines in one spot. Overall, a very enjoyable experience, and we’d happily come back.

Lovely atmosphere here on a Friday night, well worth the 40 minute walk. Had gorgeous Indian food, see pic for where. Actually thought it was great value considering quality & environment. DJ's on and staff good, clearing tables quickly etc. Watched the Spain v Belgium world cup game

Great place to be at in Amsterdam - bring your big wallet with you, some dishes are very pricy to be honest, but the flavors, scents and locations are worth it. Mexican, Italian, Asian, Contintal European Cuisine at its finest. Lots of shops to choose from, enough seating spots, so all in all easy 5 stars!

This is a must visit place. So many different options like a high end food court. From ramen and kimchi, to Italian tiramisu, burgers and fries, Indonesian, Greek pitas, salads, cocktails, beers and ciders, bao buns, even nachos! The options are endless and everything is high quality.
