Came here for dinner with my family, and this has to be one of the most authentic South Indian restaurants I’ve been to outside India.
We ordered the ghee podi masala dosa and the Mysore masala dosa, and both were outstanding. The ghee podi dosa was my favorite—you could actually smell the ghee as soon as it arrived, and every bite was packed with flavor. The Mysore masala dosa was equally delicious. Honestly, I could come back here again and again just for the dosas.
We also tried the mixed lemonade, which was super refreshing, and the chaas was excellent too.
The restaurant is located on a lively street full of food joints, but this one really stands out. It deserves every bit of the 5 stars. If you’re craving authentic South Indian food, this place is an absolute must-visit.❤️
It absolutely lived up to the hype. The dosa was super crispy, the curries were full of flavour, and everything tasted fresh. The chutneys and sambar were on point too. Service was friendly and the vibe was really nice. Definitely one of the best South Indian spots in Amsterdam. Will 100% be back!

My husband and I often crave for dosa, and when our friend told us about this place. We didn't wait and went to have some dosa at this place. It was AMAZING! usually I prefer plain dosa so I ordered abghee dosa which was delicious. And my husband ordered a special masala dosa - which was amazing. Thank you to our friend for recommending this place. Our stay in Amsterdam became a little more special for the dosas and the filter kaapi!!!

By far and hands down the most authentic south Indian food we have had outside US and probably India. Having stayed in NY-NJ for decades and tried Indian resturants in multiple countires, Madras Diaries stands out for outstanding authentic taste and very unique menu and selection. The food is full of flavors and the dishes and graveys are very unique. We had multiple vegetarian starters and entries and each one them were delicious. Qll the recommendations from waiters were spot on. kids loved the food too. Their breads were by far the best ( Parota, Nan, laccha paratha were all fluffy and just melted in the mouth). Maharani Cocktail was my favorite (gin based with hint of cardamom and cocunut milk) . We were so impressed we came back for lunch the next day and tried thier special veg thali. And boy we were so glad we got to try the thali as well that had all unique sabjis and in all a very fulfilling meal. If you are craving authentic Indian food in Amsterdam Madras Diaries is the place to visit.

If you crave authentic south Indian food then this is the place. A quick 10min walk from Rik...we chanced upon this place. The vatha kuzhambu, beetroot kola urundai, kadala curry brought back home style cooking. The service by Padmanabhan with his patience answering allergy related questions reminded of hosting in India.the Alwa and Filter kaapi was perfect finish.
