The rooftop is known for its iconic Empire State Building views!
I stumbled upon this place by chance after noticing the line outside, and I’m so glad I decided to join it. It turned out to be one of the best places I’ve experienced in New York. The music was fantastic, and the upstairs area had an amazing atmosphere. I especially loved the gin and tonic and the mango cocktail—they were both outstanding.
This place has definitely become one of my favorite spots in the city. From now on, every time I visit New York, I’ll make sure to stop by. I highly recommend it—it’s truly amazing, amazing, amazing!

230 Fifth Rooftop Bar is one of those classic New York venues that truly delivers on the experience people expect when visiting the city. The biggest attraction is undoubtedly the spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline, including an incredible perspective of the Empire State Building that becomes even more impressive after sunset.
The atmosphere is particularly enjoyable during the evening. On cool nights, the rooftop offers a relaxed and inviting setting where guests can unwind, enjoy the city lights, and take in the energy of New York from above. The combination of open-air seating and panoramic views creates a memorable experience that feels both lively and surprisingly comfortable.
The live music adds significantly to the ambiance. It is well chosen, enhances the mood without overpowering conversations, and contributes to a pleasant chill-out environment that encourages guests to stay longer and enjoy the evening.
Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient despite the popularity of the venue. The staff maintained a welcoming attitude throughout the visit.
Overall, 230 Fifth combines excellent views, enjoyable live music, friendly service, and a vibrant rooftop atmosphere, making it a highly recommended stop for both visitors and locals.

Good place to visit while in Manhattan, it has a nice view of the Empire State Building. You can order drinks and food via their app if you are lucky enough to find a spot to sit. Food is ok, drinks and atmosphere are good. The sitting area is tight for large groups.

We had an amazing time at 230 Fifth Rooftop Bar. The food was great, the drinks were great, and the views were absolutely incredible. We got there at just the right time, which made the entire experience even better.
One person who really stood out was the host (I didn’t catch his name). He wasn’t our server, but he was constantly walking around making sure everyone had water, was enjoying themselves, and helping guests find seats as they became available. That level of hospitality didn’t go unnoticed.
A big reason we stayed as long as we did was because he was able to get us a table with one of the best views in the house. Watching the city skyline transition into sunset from that spot was unforgettable. We could have stayed there all night if we didn’t have other plans.
Before visiting, we saw a lot of mixed reviews online. Some people said it was overrated or too touristy, and honestly, if we had based our decision solely on those reviews, we probably wouldn’t have gone. I’m really glad we decided to experience it for ourselves instead.
Everyone has different expectations, but for us, 230 Fifth absolutely delivered. Between the atmosphere, the drinks, the food, the outstanding hospitality, and one of the best rooftop views in New York City, it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. We’d definitely come back the next time we’re in the city.
