🥚 Slow Poached Hen’s Egg
Slow-poached to a delicate, jelly-like texture, the egg is beautifully composed: topped with an asparagus purée, asparagus spears and crisp potato, while beneath it lies a rich black truffle sauce that pairs perfectly with sweetcorn. The dish unfolds in layers, moving from bright and fresh to deep and indulgent.
🐟 Poached Cornish Turbot
Served with a classic French seafood sauce, the turbot and prawn are wrapped in kombu for a striking two-tone presentation. Accompanied by grapes, samphire, seaweed and salmon roe, every element elevates the natural sweetness of the seafood.
🐓 Norfolk Black Leg Chicken
My favourite dish of the meal. The chicken is incredibly tender with perfectly crisp skin, paired with tender white asparagus — one of my favourite vegetables. The mushroom roulade alongside, plus two complementary sauces, brings wonderful depth and dual layers of flavour.
🍓 Strawberry
Light, tangy and sweet strawberry mousse. It’s the ideal finish after a savoury main course, refreshing and cleansing the palate.
I recently visited CORD Restaurant and had a really enjoyable evening. The seafood cocktail was super fresh and light, with a nice balance from the apple and fennel. For mains, I went with the Cornish cod — perfectly cooked and the saffron sauce really brought everything together.
We also tried the braised pork cheeks which were incredibly tender and rich, definitely a highlight of the meal.
For dessert, the mandarin with dark chocolate and miso was surprisingly good — not too sweet, a bit different in a good way. Overall, the food felt refined but still comforting. Service was smooth and relaxed. Would happily come back.
Had dinner at CORD Restaurant and it was a lovely experience overall. Started with the burrata, which was fresh and creamy, and the fig + walnut combo worked really well.
For mains, I tried the pork cheeks — super soft and full of flavour, especially with the cider sauce. My friend had the cod and also really liked it.
Dessert was the mango & passionfruit, which was refreshing and not overly sweet — a nice way to end the meal.
Atmosphere is elegant but not stuffy, and the pacing of the courses was just right. A solid spot for a special dinner without feeling too formal.
