The restaurant's name, 'Chote Nawab,' translates to 'Little Nawab,' suggesting a regal or high-quality dining experience.
The matar paneer lunch special was a decent value at $16.80 (plus tax). I just wished the side servings of dal and the mixed vegetables had more spice. The same can be said for the papri chaat, where a bit more spice could have balanced out the sweetness of the chutney.
Really good food, service was unfriendly, place was nicer than in photos. Lots of choices that are ‘not common’. If you want to go for something other than butter chicken, korma, madras, and vindaloo, this is the place. We ordered one chicken with green chili and coconut (so refreshing and creamy at the same time, just yum!) and one lamb biryani (this was good as expected but the raita (yogurt dressing) was what elevated it). For deserts we ordered two things: kheer and I don’t remember the name. Even for desserts, they had uncommon ones too. If you’re feeling adventurous, come here. Service was not unfriendly and very quick! Price was reasonable!

I had a really disappointing experience with the biryani here. We ordered both the goat biryani and the chicken biryani and ended up spending almost $50, expecting an authentic and enjoyable meal.
Unfortunately, the goat meat was not cooked properly and was difficult to eat. The chicken biryani also tasted very different from what one would expect from a biryani. The rice was overcooked and sticky throughout, except for the top layer, which made the overall dish quite unpleasant.
The service itself was good, and the staff were polite, but good service cannot make up for poorly prepared food. For the price we paid, this was extremely disappointing. Sadly, this was not the quality we expected, and based on this experience, we would not return.

Local traditional Indian restaurant that has been in Murray Hill for years.
The food has plenty of flavor and there a lot of options to choose from. Servers are great and very attentive.
The place has a more modern bright design aesthetic.
The only unfortunate part is everything is a la carte so it does add up quickly. If you do find yourself frequenting the restaurant you should join their rewards program.

Had a lovely time here! The food was wonderful, the ambience was great and the service was even better.
Their Manager Mr. Shreeram was really kind and attentive. He along with his team hosted us with genuine warmth.
Thank you to the entire team for such a pleasant evening. We'll definitely be back! :)
