I recently checked out BOA restaurant during Dine LA and went with their 3-course with dessert. The starter menu is a total visual experience! I ordered the Hamachi Crudo, which comes with a cool touch of smoke that lasts until your very last bite (check out my pictures!). My husband went with the Caesar salad, and let me tell you—it is truly legendary, just like the menu promises. Kenneth was amazing; he put on a fantastic three-minute performance making the Caesar salad, explaining all the ingredients and mixing the dressing right tableside. He was so warm and friendly, and it made the whole experience both fascinating and delicious. I totally get why their legendary sauce gets its own spot on the menu!
For our entrées, my husband and I both ordered the Petite Filet. They were absolute perfection—honestly, no explanation needed. For our sides, we got the creamed spinach and the mashed potatoes, choosing one each, and neither of them disappointed at all. There wasn't a choice for dessert, so we were given a cookie. I wanted to finish mine at the table, but I was just too full, so I boxed up the rest for the next day. Oh my gosh, it was still incredible!
Our server, Sean, was fantastic and very friendly too, and the restaurant has such a relaxing vibe. (Or maybe I was just extra relaxed after having some wine!) I actually mentioned this to the manager or owner, and he shared an awesome tip with us: wine bottles are half-price on Sundays! I will definitely be back to try more of their steaks on a Sunday (and to try other wines, too!).
Everything was wonderful, with just one minor downside: I wasn't a fan of the automatic 4.50% WeHo Labor surcharge included in the total bill.
