This location is infinitely better than the shop on Utica Avenue. The service is excellent. Especially, delivery. The food is fresher and tastes better at the Flatbush Avenue location. They pay attention to detail. The staff here is better, as well. Very friendly. Even over the phone, they're pleasant to speak with. The girls at the Utica shop are rude and give you puny portions compared to Flatbush Avenue. They behave as if they're doing you a favor. Not good on their part.
My food is always enjoyable from this location. Utica Avenue's shop is a gamble. Overall, great restaurant with great food. I live closer to the Utica location and always order from Flatbush Avenue because of the quality of service. Utica Avenue needs to do better.
I want this place to be better but the food just doesn't hit. The chicken I bought was tough and the rice just didn't work. I think they are giving it their best but I'd suggest getting a new cook. There's tons of competition in that area so if they dont make a positive move, the end could be near.
Needed something filling but fast and the red bean soup was just the thing. The flavor was excellent with a thick texture and soft carrots, chunks of Irish (potatoes), calabaza and dumplings. Genuinely Jamaican in the most Caribbean part of Brooklyn! Love to keep going back.
I’ve tried a lot of Jamaican spots in the neighborhood and when it comes to patties, nowhere even comes close. I’m talking flavor, enough filling, flakiness, they got it all down. This is also my go to place for jerk chicken, but act fast because it sells out quickly.
The dinner I purchased consisted of salty not savory oxtails. Mushy over cooked rice & peas and sugary undercooked macaroni salad.
What A complete disaster this cuisine I was looking forward to consuming a delicious meal. Instead I spent nearly $35 to discard. Highly disappointed and just tired of these restauranteurs not hiring skilled chefs. Another Flatbush Caribbean restaurant with lackluster cuisine !! Horrible food based on my first experience and last
What a waste of money !
