Atmosphere Batumi

Atmosphere inside the Alphabet Tower at Batumi is a very upbeat restaurant having some fantastic views from the top. We tried their honey cake with cream and their passion fruit martini. Both of them were splendid. The ambience is fantastic and so are the staff. Very curteous. The views are splendid and you can see the entire boulevard and the Black Sea view is amazing. If you are inside Alphabet, you must dine at the Atmposhere. It’s worth it. 😊

I have mixed feelings about this place, but after my last visit, I'm deeply disappointed. I first came a week ago with family in the evening, and everything was perfect—the desserts were delicious, drinks were great, and the service was quick. Because of that, I brought my mom back a few days ago around 12:00 PM. First, you have to pay 20 Lari per person just to go all the way up which we were okay with but paying 40 Lari for two people just to step inside feels entirely wrong for restaurant guests. That fee should absolutely be free or credited toward your bill if you are actually ordering food and leaving money there. It is especially unfair to charge it when the kitchen is closed and the tower isn't even spinning. The service on this second visit was awful. We sat for 20 minutes without a single server coming over. There only looked to be two servers on the floor. We tried to get a waitress's attention—she clearly saw us but ignored us a few times. When we finally managed to call her over, she just went and told another waiter to handle us. When he finally approached, he told us the kitchen was closed and we’d have to wait another 15 minutes to order food, so we couldn't even try it. To make matters worse, the globe wasn't spinning. When we asked why, we were told it only starts rotating at 7:00 PM. None of this information—the kitchen hours or the rotation schedule—is listed anywhere on their website or at the entrance. If you are charging a forced entry fee, you need to be transparent about what is actually available before people pay. While the view is admittedly very pretty, you can get a nice view at plenty of other places without the steep cover charge. The entire point of paying to come here is the unique experience of the spinning tower, and we didn't get that. The dessert was still delicious and the coffee was alright, but the lack of transparency, unfair pricing, and dismissive service completely ruined the atmosphere for my mom's first time here. It simply wasn't worth it.

Let’s start with the fact that getting up to this café is not free you actually have to pay just to access it. From the cashier at the elevator to the waitstaff, the overall attitude felt cold and unwelcoming, as if I owed them something for being there. The prices are several times higher than almost anywhere else in the city, yet the food quality is noticeably worse. On top of that, despite these premium prices, there was no proper table service, we had to go and order ourselves, as the staff kept walking around but never came to take our order. The only real positive is the view, which partly compensates for the gloomy and uncomfortable atmosphere. Still, I would honestly recommend choosing almost any other place nearby instead of this one.
