My partner and I deeply enjoyed the indulgent experience at ALTA! What quality customer service, food and ambience.
The place is beautifully decorated, and every member of the team seems to specialise in something that helps create the best possible experience for customers - at least, that’s how I felt. Everyone could be themselves without the need to be cocky.
We loved the food and the overall experience. We will 100% return!
P.S. What a banger of a cheesecake! 😍
The best food ever!!!! We felt like being in Spain, better! Everything was so tasty, well presented and explained. The whole staff is so lovely and welcoming. also very good and tasty cocktail! We will definitely be back! Thank you so much to everyone at Alta!
Lunch in central...and my friend suggested somewhere (new to me). Alta in Kingly Court. A modern version of a 17th century coaching yard with restaurants all around. Busy, lively, ideal for a lunchtime catch up. Alta, a basque inspired restaurant that opened to glowing reviews, specialising in small tapas style plates. There are larger main dishes...but the fun here is in the selection and range of flavours. Drink wise, we went for the Sangria for him (eminently drinkable) me...the Wild Thyme (black tea, sour cherry, non alcoholic) very piquant and perfect balance for the Spanish flavours. I'm not going to list all the dishes, and I can't offer a menu as Alta change their offerings according to what is freshly available....but I think the photos speak for themselves. Each dish was truly delicious. The staff are friendly, fun .but unobtrusive...ideal! I would heartily recommend a visit here if you're ever in the area.
Visited for dinner with some friends, lovely welcome and nice set up. Good and polite service as well BUT I did not like the food to be honest.
To be specific I only liked the meat, but it was a bit on the pricey side.
I found all the other things we tried quite underwhelming and I did not enjoy the flavours profile (the braised pork was extremely fatty for example, the croquetas were nothing special and the goat cheese brioche bun wasn’t my kind of thing at all- and I generally love goat cheese).
I wouldn’t say not to try it at all, but I personally wouldn’t try it again.
Fabulous food prepared by some fantastically talented chefs, totally amazing front of house staff who are very knowledgeable about the food on offer. The drinks were great as well.
Highly recommend the oysters, the seabass, the venison and the chocolate ice cream and smoked meringue. Thanks to the whole team for an amazing experience.
