No bull, no posturing—just pure, unadulterated soul. You walk into The Carriage House expecting the usual high-end theatrical circus, but what you actually get is a masterclass in respect—for the ingredients, for the craft, and for the sheer, unpretentious joy of eating well.
The room hits you first: magnificent, warm, steeped in history, and completely devoid of the suffocating, stuffy pretense that usually poisons fine dining. Then comes the food—a sharp, confident narrative where every single plate lands with quiet, undeniable precision. No gimmicks, no foam for the sake of foam. Just honest brilliance on a plate. The front-of-house staff is razor-sharp, genuinely warm, and delightfully human.
It’s not cheap, but real soul never is. A glorious, unforgettable night of proper Irish hospitality.
Very disappointed with our lunch in The Carriage House. It was a special occasion for my family, certainly did not live up to the name or selling point of “fine dining”. The food was fine for the most part, nothing spectacular. However, the fish and chips were greasy with rock hard chips, no salad etc, for 36 euro. Staff were very friendly but the actual service was poor, leaning over tables and asking to be handed over dishes etc likely because we were completely boxed in at our table. The atmosphere was lovely but certainly not worth the price point.

My experience at the Carriage House at Adare was beyond bad. It was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by a very sweet and kind host who showed us to our table. That was the highlight of the dinner I’d say. We sat down and we sat there for about 20 minutes before the waiter came up and he wasn’t friendly, not rude, but not rude. He took our drink order and then came back for the food later, he was just direct, no side talk or anything. That’d be fine if I was at a normal restaurant, but this was a nice restaurant at Adare manor. I ordered the filet with a side of Mac and cheese, the filet came out, I had ordered it medium rare. I had cut into it, and it was not tender and it was more of a medium well, so I sent it back. The manager came to my table and in a friendly way called my judgement wrong and tried to inherently mansplain a medium rare steak to me. So I was like, if that’s medium rare, cook the new one rare. The rare one came out and it was more tender and looked better, but then I cut into it, and it was basically a living breathing piece of meat. The fat marbling that you see on a raw steak was still visible, and it was cold in the center. I can’t understand how going from medium rare to rare was so different. I didn’t send it back that time because frankly I was ready to leave after the bad experience. The Mac and cheese was pretty good, but it didn’t stand out or anything. The total for my meal came out to about $90 for the worst filet I’ve ever had/one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had and some mediocre Mac and cheese. I highly recommend dining somewhere else, literally anywhere else. Don’t waste your time at this so called restaurant.

My husband and I reserved a table here for two for our anniversary. It was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL restaurant, with several options for main dishes, sides and drinks. We didn’t stay at the manor, but we did have a special dessert provided since we listed that it was our anniversary on the reservation. I ordered halibut and my husband ordered the steak filet, which was more brown than he usually eats but it was flavorful and moist. They had a good list of non-alcoholic drinks as well as alcohol. We also got to wonder the grounds following dinner, and they are beautiful. My advice is to make a reservation specifically if you are eating at or after 6:30 PM.

Very disappointed with our breakfast experience at the Carriage House at Adare Manor.
My girlfriend and I visited for breakfast and, given the reputation of Adare Manor and the price point, we expected a much higher standard of service. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of expectations.
My girlfriend ordered porridge, and I asked if it could be served with strawberries, blueberries, banana, and honey. We were told this wasn’t possible because the porridge was made in one large batch. However, when the porridge arrived, it was simply plain porridge with a few blueberries on top. The advertised compote was missing, there was no honey, and no spoon was provided. After asking for these items, we waited another 5–10 minutes before a spoon arrived, by which time the porridge had gone cold.
We also ordered the Carriage House Fry and requested white toast for the table. The toast didn’t arrive until nearly 30 minutes into our breakfast. Nobody asked how we would like it prepared, and when it finally arrived, some slices were burnt while others were undercooked.
The overall service felt inattentive and disorganised throughout. For a breakfast that cost €54, we expected much better attention to detail and customer service.
To make matters worse, when the bill was presented, we had no intention of leaving a tip due to the poor experience. When we selected “no tip” on the card machine, the staff member’s reaction suggested dissatisfaction, which made for an uncomfortable end to an already disappointing meal.
Given the reputation and pricing of Adare Manor, this experience was extremely underwhelming. We hope management takes this feedback on board and improves the standard of service.
