We celebrated my 15-year-old granddaughter Lila’s birthday at Umbria, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Three of us ordered the petite filet, and every one was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We also shared the octopus and fried fish appetizers, which were outstanding.
Our table by the upstairs window gave us a beautiful view while still feeling cozy, the best of both worlds. To top it all off, the valet service was seamless, with my car waiting right in front of the building when we left. Delicious food, excellent service, and a perfect setting for a special celebration. We’ll definitely be back!
I really enjoyed my meal here! Took a friend from out of town for a fancy meal. It’s expensive but honestly the portions were bigger than I anticipated (still finished it) and the food was great! We went at 6:30 on a Monday and we had drinks, dinner, and dessert in an hour! Very prompt cooking!
Excellent service and food. Based on the environment, we expected it to be a bit quieter, but the tables are quite close together and we were seated upstairs near several large parties, which made it a bit loud.
We ordered the 24 oz. prime bone-in cowboy rib eye with 4 cheese truffle gnocchi and broccolini. The gnocchi was so good we ended up ordering a second serving. The broccolini was quite spicy, almost bitter but everything else was amazing.
A lovely spot to catch up with a friend, this place deserves more stars!
I had dinner with a group of international friends on the 250 4th of July and this restaurant was hard to give a review let’s start with the good. Service was high level and people are friendly and welcoming, food tasted good, and the vibe was nice. Now the bad comes; food portions are little but this is fine as the restaurant is on the fancier side, water cups had a fishy smell (I don’t expect that from a “fancy restaurant”). After we had dinner, our waitress said that “this is a happy day” and dessert is on the house, after every one ordered a dessert the waitress comes back and said that it’s only 2 free desserts for the table?! And everyone was ready for dessert, no one cancelled it. This sounds like an important thing to be mentioned (mind games). One last thing, there’s 20% large party fees, and I think this is also important to be mentioned earlier.
I visited Umbria yesterday to celebrate a special occasion with my wife and another couple. I want to start by saying that the ambiance and the food were truly excellent — the restaurant itself is beautiful, and the dishes were well-prepared and enjoyable.
However, the service completely overshadowed what should have been a great experience. Our server, Carlos, was noticeably rude, inattentive, and unprofessional from the very beginning. When taking our order, his attitude felt dismissive and impatient, as if we were inconveniencing him rather than being welcomed guests.
The situation only got worse at the end of the meal. While we clearly observed other tables receiving printed receipts, Carlos did not provide one to us. Instead, he brought only the toast machine, and his demeanor suggested he was trying to pressure us into leaving a tip — likely because he realized we were dissatisfied with his service.
Tipping should reflect the quality of service, and unfortunately, in this case, the service was far below expectations. It’s disappointing because the restaurant itself has so much potential, but poor service like this significantly damages the overall experience.
I would recommend the food and the atmosphere, but I strongly caution against being served by Carlos. Service matters just as much as the meal, and in this case, it was simply unacceptable.
