Tucco Real Food Born

Found Tucco/Born on Google Maps shortly after arriving in Barcelona. I think we showed up too early - the pasta we ordered wasn't available, then we got the wrong sauce on what we did order. Food was good, small with a nice atmosphere, friendly staff. One of the better values in the area.

The place was empty when we visited. Service was awful. The first lady who spoke to us was nice but then she had to go and the first guy who came took our order but simply forgot to put 2 of them through, so food came out but 2 of us got nothing. As we were the only ones there we thought maybe he was still cooking. By the time the others finished we went to check and he showed the ticket where he hadn’t even put it through. It was too late by then as we had to leave. Tried some of the pizza one of us ordered and it was the worst pizza I’ve had in a while. I don’t understand why this place has great reviews. It’s awful.

This is an authentic Italian restaurant where everything, including the pasta and ravioli, is homemade. The food was so delicious, and the cakes too. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The decor is warm and cozy, but there are stairs inside, which might be inconvenient for wheelchair users.

Lovely homemade pasta but noted our dishes were sat for a few minutes as our waiter wrapped up our cutlery and brought them over, so the food was then a little cooler than I would have liked! However, very affordable compared to a lot of Barcelona.
