had a really enjoyable experience From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, giving a true taste of authentic Greek hospitality. I decided to try the calamari and beef, and both dishes exceeded my expectations. The calamari was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of fresh flavor. The beef was just as impressive, cooked to perfection, juicy, and very well seasoned.
What truly stood out was the service. The staff were extremely attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the entire visit. They made sure everything was served on time and checked in just enough to make sure everything was perfect without being overwhelming.
Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience with high-quality food and excellent service. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great Greek cuisine and a comfortable, enjoyable atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back again.
We've been many years ago and thought we'd give them another go.. Service was good, atmosphere nice and food was quite tasty. We had the village salad which was nice, and the phyllo pastry stuffed with feta cheese and honey, followed by fried anchovies (which were more like sardines) and shrimp saganaki (which came with plenty of tomato sauce), I don't think they cooked it in the oven as should be. Anyway, on the whole quite nice food. If we go again we'll probably try different dishes.
Extremely disappointed with the food today. I have been there a couple of years ago and the food was great. Today, were were a group of 8 and none of them enjoyed the food:
1. Salad and appetizer portions are very small and over-priced
2. We had 2 orders of the 500gr Pork Chop and probably the fat, was 200gr, the bone was another 200gr, so you get around 100gm of meat. Plus they were cooked rare, even thought you don't get asked for your cooking preference
3. Shrimps, were battered and fried which was very pointless to batter small shrimp. The taste was very blunt there was more batter than shrimp. They should have been cooked without battering
4. Kotsi, was well cooked with a glazing sauce. But honestly nothing special or with any particular taste. I did need to add extra spices to make it somewhat special
5. Fries... TOTAL DISASTER.... never had any worse fries than these. They were ugly looking, looking burned, and very soggy. They looked and tasted like they were cooked 2 days ago, and re-fried to be be served. Even the cheapest restaurant has better fries.
I would have rated this place with 1 start, but the only reason they get 2 is because of the atmosphere, service and cleanliness.
Such a shame, because it used to be a really nice place. I don't know what went wrong. We had a 12pm reservation, which mean it was empty so there's not excuses for the poor food quality, because they were busy.
The final verdict, is that the 4 families that were there today, are simply not going back again.
Loved the food here! The souvlaki was juicy, well-seasoned, and perfectly grilled. The feta in phyllo with honey and pistachios (photo) was incredible — crispy, creamy, and full of flavor. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Definitely a place I’d come back to when in Nicosia.
Everything was 10/10. I think now that Nicosia has so many good restaurants with excellent food, what truly shines at Elliniko is the service!
We also had 3 main dishes that are not in the picture below
