The Sapphire Hotel

Where do I start, firstly when we arrived the owner tried to short change us by saying we didnt book 9 rooms, we even had the confirmation from booking.com. The owner did not make is feel welcome at all. Once in our room, this is where hotel horror comes to life, the carpets had never seen a hoover, carpets were pure filth, there is mold growing in most rooms. The window sill was falling apart, it was pointless closing the blinds as there were parts missing. No towels supplied not that I would have used the shower as it was dirty. The draws had rubbish in them. The walls were filthy. The bar downstairs was like a nightclub for the locals. Alcohol on tap tastes flat and made a few of us feel unwell. The place needs closing down. I know its cheap but it still needs to have a level of cleanliness. Do the public a favour and shut it down.

I would not recommend staying at Sapphire Hotel. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I would rate it no stars at all. The hotel did not match the photos or description on Booking.com. The first room we were given was in very poor condition, with stained bedding and mattress, an unclean floor, and a carpet that was visibly dirty with stains. The drawers were dirty (including a used sock), there was damaged and rusted furniture, and even a bag of rubbish left in the room. There were also no towels provided despite this being listed. We reported this to reception and were moved to another room, but unfortunately the second room was also not acceptable. It again had stained bedding and a stained mattress, was not properly cleaned, the heater was not working, there was broken furniture, and it did not even have a TV. There were also no towels provided in this room either. In addition, there was loud music playing late into the night, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. A £20 deposit was also taken for items such as towels and a hairdryer, despite these not being provided. Parking was also very poor and not a proper facility, making it more practical and cheaper to park on the street outside instead. Overall, the hotel was not as described and not fit for purpose.

Lady named Jodie was very friendly, chatty and accommodating. Location ok, rooms ok price for one night, however need desperately renovating. Bar and dining area nice and well kept.

Horrible hotel. Rooms are terrible. Where to start. One key given and door handle hanging off the door. NO TOWELS. One flimsy toilet roll in the bathroom. Broken bed. No plug for the sink. No temperature control for the shower. Its burning hot and thats it. Really bad attitude from reception staff. Only given it one star as the TV was good although it was above one of the beds so you couldn't watch it if you were in the other one. No room to swing a cat either. Set of drawers with all 3 of them wonky. Won't be back !!!!
