Newly opened in the Funk Zone, The Mullet is a playful hi-fi vinyl and craft cocktail bar tucked into the back of Lama Dog. Same owner, same fun community vibe, but with a little more cocktail-and-vinyl energy. And yes, the name checks out: business in the front, party in the back.
This is NOT your dark, moody, whisper-while-you-listen-to-the-records kind of vinyl bar. The music is intentionally loud, the space is bright and cheery, and dancing is encouraged.
The cocktail menu keeps the theme going with signature drinks inspired by famous figures and their iconic hair. I tried the McCartney in Wings Era, and it was SO refreshing. The elderflower really made it for me. Can’t wait to try the rest!
Another perk is that you can bring over food from The Nook, just like at Lama Dog, so you can easily make a whole night of it. And it’s dog-friendly, which is always a bonus.
They also have DJs on the lineup, so check their IG, @themulletsb, to see what’s happening. Hours are Wednesday–Thursday 4–11 pm, Friday–Saturday 12 pm–12:30 am, and Sunday–Monday 12–10 pm. They’re closed Tuesdays. The staff is super friendly, and Jesus behind the bar deserves a special shoutout. Definitely say hi and order yourself a drink while you’re there!

The Mullet makes a great Negroni and is super dog friendly. They kept my dog’s birthday dessert cold while we ate dinner. It was very sweet of them. They also gave my friend who has a mullet a free drink. 100000/10 recommend
