One of the best cafe in the area, great selections of food and pastries, I love the croissant here, they have also good coffee.
Wonderful staff, tiny place so make sure to consider 30-45 mints waiting time in the weekends.
My only note is the potato comes with the meal is not good...it is ruining the goodness of the meal .
Blue Door has so much creativity in its food, its drinks, and some incredible pastries. You have to get a croissant here. They are absolutely perfect. With a wonderful honeycomb lattice inside. The cinnamon roll is also very good. But the perfection doesn't always carry over with all the food. The rotating specials here are the reason to come here. But they can add also be the reason you might not come back. It depends on what it is. For instance the peach french toast has a wonderful bread pudding texture. It's text book on that. But the toppings are very sweet and there just isn't enough salt or acidity to help balance it. Technical issues also come into play with the short rib special. But not in execution. Each element is wonderfully prepared. But the plating makes no sense. The eggs are just kind of there so that it can be called a brunch item. You kind of just have to sample things individually to figure out what goes together. This dish could also benefit from a sauce that could try and tie everything together that isn't the egg yolks off in left field. The service here though is perfect the staff is super friendly and accommodating. This place is however super popular expect a wait if you do not get there when they open. It's absolutely worth trying. Even if you have a bad time the first time, go again. The menu is always changing and some items are perfect while others are not. That's why I have to give it a 4. Everything here just doesn't hit at a constant level especially for the price. This is fine dining prices at a brunch restaurant don't expect normal brunch prices. But the food can be worth the price you pay for it. Also this place has a dedicated parking lot and it does fill up fast. So if you want to try here come early.
5/5. The parking lot was full so we had to ask where else we could park - which was the overflow hospital parking. The interior had a very cozy modern cafe feel. It was very full inside during weekend brunch, every table was full and the tables are pretty close together, but it didn’t feel cramped. All of the staff were very nice and helpful. They have their classic menu and a seasonal menu, and a bakery that you can order to-go, take home, or at the table. There are delicious coffee drinks to choose from coffee to affogato. The meal was delicious and all textures and flavors paired perfectly. You can get on the waitlist using their website on the same day. It starts getting very busy after 9AM, so it’s best to plan and get on the list ahead of time. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well.
Fantastic local place!! The food presentation was very delightful and the taste of the food was also. The wait time was very long on a weekend so be prepared, and parking is limited but not impossible to find - I’d say it was definitely worth that though. The avocado toast and eggs were perfection, as well as the strawberry blintzes (not pictured). I didn’t find it to be any more expensive than a comparable chain option (such as FW). The owner works hard to keep things moving here and it shows. My service was good - anything incorrect was promptly corrected. I will definitely be returning.
We were welcomed by a friendly hostess and immediately sat on the covered patio by a heater.
We ordered the morel mushroom omelet and it was delicious!!! We split this bc it was made with 4 eggs, also ordered bacon and a fresh side salad. So good!!!!
