We dined at Sparrow during a recent trip to Orlando, and overall, we really enjoyed our meal. Before visiting, I had only read a handful of reviews, but I remembered one mentioning a less-than-ideal table tucked against a curtain in a small corner. Unfortunately, that was exactly where we were seated. We felt a bit cramped, and the table next to us was so close that they commented on our food throughout the meal.
Thankfully, the food largely made up for it. The Endive Salad was excellent. I loved the flavors and the way it was served almost like lettuce wraps. The steak with blue cheese was cooked perfectly, incredibly tender, and full of flavor. The standout dish for me was the Cacio e Pepe Fries; I’ll be dreaming about them for a long time. The Lumache Alla Vodka was also delicious.
The only dish that missed the mark was the Gambas a la Ajillo. The tableside presentation felt awkward and unnecessary. The server chopped the shrimp and egg with two spoons, poured a bowl of chips on top, and then crushed them into the dish. It almost felt like a joke, and honestly, I would have preferred the dish without the presentation. The flavors were also a bit too salty for our taste.
For dessert, we had the Sparrow Chocolate Cake, which was very good. Next time, though, I’d love to try the cheesecake or one of the ice cream offerings.
Despite the seating issue and one disappointing dish, we would absolutely return. Hopefully we'll get a different table next time and another order of those incredible Cacio e Pepe Fries.
Absolutely loved my experience at Sparrow! From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere felt warm, intimate, and perfect for a relaxed night out. The lighting and presentation really set the mood.
The food was outstanding everything looked and tasted incredible. The dishes were beautifully plated, full of flavor, and clearly made with attention to detail. The toasted bread was perfectly crispy, and the sauces were rich and satisfying.
Service was also great friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcomed.
Great food and love the vibe here! Tried it out for an anniversary dinner -- it's tapas-style, and we ordered Iberico and the pan con tomate, which was like a flatbread. All tasted great! They had a full cocktail menu as well, and I had the Sazerac and the "You're A Star Milk Punch" (no milk) -- they also tasted fantastic. The ambiance is also worth highlighting -- very low-key and refined. As can be expected, there was also a very extensive wine list!
A new favorite spot. Beautiful atmosphere, out of this word food. Sophia was very attentive and sweet, as was everyone else that helped us out. We do recommend a reservation because the place is intimate.
Our experience last night was amazing. Sparrow definitely knows what they are doing! The food, service, ambiance and small details were on point. It's hard to be able to execute all of those correctly! My friend and I split the tuna & salmon crudo, artichoke gnocchi and a brioche with melted brie, truffle oil, and duck on top. The brioche literally gave my friend and I chills, that's how DELICIOUS it was. The gnocchi was also something I'll continue to dream about because the flavor was so unique. Wine selection was also great and worth the price. So glad to find a great wine bar in Orlando that also has an amazing chef putting together dishes with exceptional flavor profiles. The DJ was also such a good vibe! Can't wait to come back!
