Sonic Drive-In

Cheesefries: 5/10 it's just a slice cheese warmed on the fries, not the dipping cheese kind. Sonic's Cheeseburger: 6/10 this is ok, tastes like the actual Sonic's in mainland but I think the flavor can be better. RedBull Slushie: 10/10 Service: 10/10 the staff keeps a warm Aloha! Overall, you can wait for the hype to calm more. I waited for 30mins but not like hours how others had. The food is good but could be better.

Burgers were overcooked but edible. Cherry slush was refreshing. We were able to snag a spot while everyone waited in the long drive thru line. It was an ok experience, hopefully the cooks get better with the burgers.

I waited in line for 30 minutes and the computer got my order wrong multiple times. This is a new location which is currently being slammed to overcapacity with customers. Half the staff of high schoolers have visible signs of injury from roller skate injuries. The state has one single roller rink for them to get experience on. Their cashier POS system is horrifyingly confusing. I think my order got mixed with someone else's in the computer and most of my food wasn't what I ordered. The cashier herself seemed experienced in customer service and cashier work, but the Sonics tech messed it up. There are 4 outdoor dining tables which are kinda crammed together. There are almost always dozens of cars wrapping around the place a couple weeks after opening. I think they blast music to drown out the sound of the cars, but that doesn't help the fumes smell. The place has the atmosphere of 2010 Black Friday. If you send someone to the Hele right across the street, you can save about $1.50 per soda and they will be back before you get to the ordering window.

I would say go at night but you will definitely be cut off if not in the drive thru before 12am. The food is really good probably salty but worth it. Definitely night was 4 hours but when it dies down it will be less then that.

Opening weekend was a mess. The current drive in setup is one way in and one way out. Cars are line up half a mile down the road. I figured maybe don’t use the drive thru, but there is no way to even park in that complex. Sonic is currently the only tenant on that parcel of property, so they got workers guiding traffic. So, I tried to park in the side residential area and do a walk up. I asked a lady walking out with her food how long was the wait. She said over an hour, which was better than 2 hours yesterday! Sorry, but forget it! There were almost 50 people in line. Unless there’s a huge promotional discount, no food in life is worth waiting over an hour. For anyone who can wait a month plus for the hype to die down; I highly recommend doing so. I look forward to trying again some other month.
