My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon at Halekulani. This was our first dinner, and we were really looking forward to it based on all of the other reviews. Unfortunately, it was not the experience that we would’ve expected.
The service was remarkable and the space is beautiful. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable on the menu and walked us through everything.
As far as the menu goes, a lot of the dishes just didn’t seem to make sense. Our favorite was the prosciutto ham, but everything else, including the steak seemed to be disjointed , with the flavors not making much sense together and didn’t have a lot of taste to it. There just seemed to be a general disconnect between most of the dishes as we were going through the courses. Also, the plating and portion sizes felt really off with multiple plates coming to the table at one time, I’d recommend portioning it out differently.
For the price we paid of this dinner I would not recommend going back again, we were very disappointed with the food. Instead I would definitely recommend checking out AOMI, another one of their restaurants. We did the sushi counter there and that experience was 10 out of 10 out of this world.
