Karaván definitely lives up to the hype. The variety of food and drinks is amazing, and there’s something for everyone no matter what you’re in the mood for. It was also where I had the best lāngos of my entire trip!
Even though it was pretty busy, I was surprised by how much seating and standing room there was. It never felt too crowded, and it was easy to find a spot to enjoy my food.
I always love stopping here for some good street food in Budapest. Whenever I’m in the city, I actually prefer this kind of food over sitting down in a restaurant, and it’s great to see the community keep growing and improving. I’m really glad they made it through and are still going strong — the seating has been upgraded, the barrels are gone, and they’ve got new tables now. What hasn’t changed are the sparrows, who still seem to be the daily regulars here. I always try to order something different, but on my last few visits I’ve been going for the Mexican food. Absolutely delicious.

I visited Karavan in Budapest and had a really enjoyable experience. There is plentiful seating, so it is a comfortable place to relax, and I liked that there was WiFi and access to bathrooms, which makes it much easier if you want to spend some time there.
The atmosphere was lively and the birds around the area were actually quite cute, which added to the charm. At the same time, it is worth being careful where you sit so you can avoid any issues with bird droppings on chairs or tables. Aside from that, it felt like a convenient and easy place to stop for food and a break in the city.
If you are thinking about going, I would say it is a good option for casual eating and hanging out, especially if you want a place with lots of seating and practical amenities. Just keep an eye on your surroundings when choosing a table, and you should have a positive experience overall.

100% a must if you’re in Budapest. Perfect spot to grab something quick, fun, and really satisfying.

I didn’t get a chance to try the food, so I can’t comment on the taste or quality. However, Street Food Karaván has a lively atmosphere with plenty of food stalls offering a wide variety of cuisines. It’s a convenient spot if you’re visiting the nearby ruin bars and looking for different dining options. I’d be happy to come back next time to sample the food.
