Grew up eating at Sam Woo and we happen to be in the area to try this location for dinner on a Sunday evening. I think it's my favorite so far. So glad that it was recommended to us!
We were a party of 7 and were seated right away. Service was excellent! Very friendly and attentive staff. We were given complimentary ice tea too.
We really enjoyed the dishes that we ordered. The food came out very quickly. The beef chow fun and the chicken with salty fish fried rice were my favorites. Though the won ton noodle soup and the seafood fried noodles dishes were also delicious.
At the end of the meal, we were each given a red bean dessert as well! Portions were large and their prices are still reasonable. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again!
Dropped in for lunch and had the black pepper filet mignon and some veggies. Food is always good and consistent so you will always get what you expect. Prices have e gone up quite a bit and they now charge you for rice.
Delicious Cantonese restaurant that had an extensive menu that specializes is Chinese BBQ. The place is great for family style that has large portions and lots of different options. They also have an order counter if you just want to buy some BBQ to go. The interior is large and staff are friendly.
I’ve purchased from this place before and never had issues, but this time was very disappointing.
A large portion of the roast pork I received contained pieces that appear to be lymph tissue (spongy texture with holes), which are generally considered inedible and should be removed before serving.
Unfortunately, I didn’t notice until I got home, and more than half of the portion was not usable.
I hope the restaurant can pay more attention to food preparation and quality control in the future.
Just sharing my experience so others can be aware! 小心淋巴肉!!!
Sam Woo is a classic. We came here craving a hearty dinner and knew this was the right place. They have large televisiona which was perfect for the Dodgers playoff game. Ordered seafood chow mein and fish with Chinese broccoli and they were both good. I would come back again.
