Yup. This place is fantastic. Was there for a Saturday afternoon, so I didn't see any live performance, but I could tell it's a great venue for it. Beer is fantastic. Get the Bourbon Barrel Aged rotator. 10/10.
Also, the outdoor vendor of the day had brat nachos....BRAT NACHOS! Chef's kiss.
Parking is easy in their lot. Plus plenty along the surrounding streets. Don't miss it.
The drinks are stiff and there's almost always a lively crowd. The music scene here is second to none in the area with the possibile exception of a EvenFlow in Geneva. I prefer this spot due to their outstanding PA system and the views. It's quite literally next to the Fox River. They have giant glass garage doors that open in the summer so that the venue becomes an open air jamboree.
The open mic nights held here draw a surprising array of talent. Typically, open mic nights are a major drag and can even make you feel nauseous as the greenhorns get up to strut their stuff for the first time. Yet the guy who manages their live music events always ensures seasoned performers are present. If not to take center stage, to support the newbies. It's a generous and noble way to support local artists.
The stage really is the beating heart of Polyanna even though they are principally a brewery. The artists who headline here are always outstanding and you can't go wrong on any night where live music is happening.
The food is solid and they make some mean cocktails. Fans of the Moscow Mule will be in hog heaven as they use a potent ginger beer that nips the tongue (served in the signature copper mug). For those who don't like "live music" you may find yourself surprised. On a summer afternoon on the weekend in St. Charles, when the weather's warm and the doors are open, there is NO BETTER place to be in the city.
The management gets everything right. If you are in the mood for your favorite local food you can have it delivered here. In the meantime, the best food trucks in Chicagoland park in the convenient lot and supply some of the tastiest fare in the area. A local favorite that draws the hoards (and myself) is the "Happy Lobster Truck." They fly in the lobster fresh every day from the East Coast. Enjoy!
Polyanna in Saint Charles is our best and favorite place to stop during our biking trips. The outside are is lovely in the summer where you can enjoy good, cold bers. On top of that all the people working at the brewery are super cool and they are always on top of everything. I wish they had more variety of food trucks but you can always order to the brewry from other places. Without a doubt the best place to sip a beer and enjoy the view of the Fox River :)
So this is a really nice place, huge areas inside and out. Live music with a stage, set up that you can hear both inside and out. Unmatched location in this area! Service is good. The beer is average. The atmosphere is great or whatever you make of it, it's a nice place!
