Amazing view. The food is all buffet, and it's just ok. I mean it looks good enough but after you start eating you realize it's really just normal quality buffet food. Not so great, but ok enough. Our kid did ok eating. They have a few beers. They have desert foods. Normal drinks are free with the meal. It's worth going to with kids, but if you're alone probably go to the other restaurant.
Amazing experience. We are so happy we decided to go - reservations highly recommended if you’re wanting to visit.
It’s a small buffet and some of the meat can be a bit dry but that’s kind of expected for a buffet style. The food was still good and I really enjoyed the salmon salad paired with some focaccia. A bit pricy but so worth it for the views and the experience. Highly recommend visiting the observation deck on the fourth floor before or after your meal. Our waitress Skye was so polite and attentive.
We did the buffet for 9:30a. We were early due to the weather but they were able to take us in around 9:15.
Skye was our server and was wonderful.
Considering it was for breakfast, as an American, it was a unique choice for breakfast like fries and pizza, but genuinely enjoyed the food. Loved the chicken sausage and how they make their waffles.
Also the beef was so soft! Thanks to all the amazing chefs/servers working behind the scenes
A majestic place to have breakfast as you look out from your table
Northern Lights Alpine Kitchen has one major thing going for it: the view. Dining at the top of the Banff Gondola is a beautiful experience, and the mountain scenery is absolutely gorgeous. Reservations are highly recommended because you are really going there for the setting and the atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the food itself was pretty forgettable. For a buffet-style restaurant in such a prime location, I expected more. The options felt limited, and while some items were decent, others didn’t taste great. Overall, the food was just okay at best and disappointing considering how much potential this space has.
The staff were friendly, which I appreciated, but the overall experience felt like you’re mostly paying for the view rather than the meal. Worth visiting once for the scenery, but I would keep expectations low for the buffet.
Loved the buffet here, great staff and even better variety of food. Couldn't imagine coming when there is a full house because there were lines as soon as the food refills came back out lol. The views are fantastic when there is no smoke but this time was very hard to see. Would recommend either way👍
