Loved our evening dinner at Merriman's. We were taken cared of as soon as I hit that reservation button. It was a birthday dinner and we were asked how they can make the evening even more special. From fresh flower leis (additional cost), personalized menus, and that birthday dessert. We were greeted by name by the hostess and immediately lead to our table. Our lovely wait staff gave champagne for the birthday person and wine for us as well. Explained the menu clearly as well as the evening's specials. The food was quite exceptional. Everything was plated beautifully and the flavors are most exquisite. It was quite a drive to the restaurant though, going through a lot of residential areas but Google Maps got us there. Definitely a must dining experience when in Maui. Plan ahead and get reservations early!
Came here for dinner and left with very full and happy bellies. The food here was to die for- particularly the crème brûlée (the best creme brûlée I’ve ever had in my entire life). While I didn’t get photos of everything we ate, the lamb special pictured below was fantastic. Not pictured was the delicious table side poke which we would come back for time and time again.
Someone in our party is celiac and they took such care and time in explaining each menu item and which options were gluten free. The service was fantastic. I will be dreaming about this place for years to come. This is a must.

If you’re looking for the best dining experience on Maui’s northwest side, this is it. If you’ve already been to the casual “by Merriman” spots along the beach, don’t assume this is the same restaurant with a nicer view — it isn’t. The seasoning is precise, and the fundamentals (sauces, temperature, execution) are on a different level entirely.
That said, calibrate your expectations. Island supply constraints are real, and if you walk in expecting mainland fine dining, you’ll be disappointed. What you get instead is the sense that the owner has thought hard about how to make local ingredients carry a plate — and that intent comes through in almost everything. The one miss was the chilled shrimp, which didn’t live up to the standard the rest of the meal set.
The service deserves its own mention: the staff were extraordinarily warm and attentive, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to linger over dessert.
Bottom line: Worth it for a proper meal in West Maui, as long as you accept the “for Hawaii” qualifier.

Wow-wee-wow what a meal. We had a wonderful dinner that left us picking out plates and asking for more. Everything from apps to deserts was fantastic. My expectations were mid, but they were blown away by the flavors, diversity of ingredients, and homogamy of Eve coming together.
The staff was nice and our server was polite and friendly. The complemtary valet was great too.
Oh, the best part, it's hella vegan friendly!

If you're staying anywhere near Kapalua, stop and make a reservation at Merriman's. The view is spectacular, but the food is the real headliner. I’m not usually one to scrape the pattern off my plates for all three courses, but I didn't leave a single scrap behind.
Our server, Leah, was absolutely stellar. Her recommendations were spot on, and the service was flawless. I started with the Tako a l'escargot, tackled the ribeye special with a twice-baked potato, and somehow found room to demolish the chocolate purse.
Highly recommend checking this place out. Ask for Leah, and bring an appetite.
