Excellent place to have Indian food. We came here for brunch and were surprised by the quality of the food. We ordered the samosa chaat which was very flavourful. We also ordered the lamb main course which was nicely done. The chaats are so good. The stewardess greeted us nicely and the service is great. Highly recommended!
Yesterday my friend and I visited this place based on the reviews we read online. It was very quiet for a Saturday evening, only my friend and I and 2 other people sitting inside.
Both my friend and I ordered the Bhuna Gosht (lamb cooked in its own juices) with each a mango lassi. As soon as we received the dish i noticed i hardly couldn’t find the meat, with luck i was able to find a small piece of meat. I decided to put all the rice and curry on my plate, I assumed the curry would be full with smaller pieces of meat. It was not!! I was able to find maybe 5 pieces of meat of approx 0,5cm big each. My friend had the same issue. When i told the waitress there was hardly no meat in dish, we were eating rice with sauce, without meat, she simply said: that’s how the chef makes the dishes…. My friend and I have been to MANY Indian restaurants in Amsterdam, and we’ve never experienced this before, usually there’s big chucks of meat in the curry. In this restaurant, we were only served sauce.
Safe to say i will never be coming back to this place again, waste of money! We went to another place after to eat something after cause we left the restaurant still hungry…

me and my boyfriend went to 29 spices and we enjoyed a really lovely romantic evening. the traditional indian food was simply amazing. we couldn’t get enough, so we also ordered the delicious samosa’s. the typical indian atmosphere was enticing. i would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves indian food.

This was one of the most disappointing experiences I had at an Indian restaurant in Amsterdam.
For an average dinning experience, the food was overpriced and didn't taste good. Chicken 365 was dry and only the outer coating tasted of strong spices but there was no flavour inside.
Bhuna Ghosht was okay, less quantity for the price and one could easily taste the sweetness of store-bought like tomato puree. Atleast the lamb was well cooked.
However, the most shocking was Prawns Koliwada - 3 prawns for a 12 euros starter??? As someone who is from the region this dish belongs to, I was extremely disappointed. Masala chai was their best item and the staff was friendly.
The pictures are deceving, however, taste isn't worth the money. I don't think I will be visiting or recommending this place.

We ordered samosas, chole, and the butter chicken and they were all delicious. I appreciated that we were able to choose the spice level and that it was actually spicy! Also the service is great. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive.
