Grumps had been showing up on my social media feed for quite some time, and the Flat Noodles were what finally convinced me to visit. I’m glad I did because overall, it was a really enjoyable dining experience.
We started with the Smashed Potato Plum Sambhal, which personally wasn’t my favourite as it felt a little too oily for my taste. However, the Butter Garlic Prawns were absolutely delicious and came with warm, crispy bread that paired perfectly with the prawns and sauce.
The standout dish for my mum was definitely the Steamed Lime & Chilli Chonak, which she rated a solid 10/10 and couldn’t stop talking about. I also tried the much-awaited Flat Noodles with prawns, and they lived up to the hype—flavourful, comforting, and definitely worth ordering.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and very hospitable throughout our visit. Another huge plus is the valet parking service, which makes the overall experience much more convenient.
My only suggestion would be to consider adding more options for guests who don’t eat pork or bacon. I was excited to try the gyozas but couldn’t because they contained pork, and a few other dishes also featured bacon. Having alternative fillings or versions would make the menu more inclusive and allow more diners to enjoy some of the restaurant’s popular dishes.
Overall, the food was great, the atmosphere was fun, and Grumps is definitely a place I’d recommend visiting. Looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu.
Grumps is one of my favourite restaurants and I find myself coming back every time. It’s also my go-to place whenever I have guests visiting Goa. The location is close for me, the team is warm and welcoming, and the food is consistently outstanding.
If you’re visiting for the first time, don’t miss the Avo Tostada, Beef Tongue, and the Gyoza to start. For mains, the Hainanese Chicken Rice with its crispy top w/ Chicken Roulade is beautifully done, and the Lime & Chilli Chonak with rice is an absolute standout.
A restaurant that continues to impress with every visit.

We visited Grumps for an evening with close friends. Two of us had Cocktails (I love the dough & Smack that & two had mocktails (Passion fruit & Constant Surprises). The drinks were out of the world. The bartender, Dash, has lovingly prepared and curated some wonderful cocktails & mocktails.
We had TEN dishes, starting with the 'Avo Wonton Toastada' (made with Avocado), Nachos with Egg plant hummus, Cheese Corn Cakes, Lamb Kebab in a mouthwatering sauce, Fried Chicken balls, Grumps Som Tam (Thai Green Pappaya Salad), Minced pork in hakka noodles sauce, steamed lime & Chilli Chonak in a butter garlic sauce, morning glory (dish with greens & sea weed), Spring Rolls with Sweet Soy Sauce, Steamed Garlic Tofu.
Chocolate passion & creme brule were for dessert
Each dish had a unique taste & was beautifully presented. We have never tasted these flavours & unique twist given to staple starters.
The menu is wonderfully curated and you come away with perfect contentment
A shout out to the young, energetic & vibrant crew who make the experience even better.
Found the lighting a little too dim. Overhead lamps on each table would serve in greater visual appreciation of the gastronamic delight

We visited as it features in conde nast top 50 restaurant list. And I must confess, despite being vegetarians- we were surprisingly impressed with the attention to detail, the freshness and uniqueness of dishes.
A fine dine place - a must visit if you are in calangute.
Advice booking in advance as they are mostly full.

Walked in and was immediately transported to a quaint little old school Goa vibe nestled in a cosy corner. The ambience was lively and bustling. The staff were welcoming. Started off with a “smooth criminal” cocktail and it was sublime. One of the best I’ve had in a while. The food was outstanding. Can’t recommend this enough.
