Okay let’s talk about the food and the hype. The food is good don’t get me wrong but for the hype it’s not there to be completely honest with you.
I would not order anything but the pasta dishes for your main. The other main courses are just not as good. We ordered the duck and though it was amazing it does not even compare to there pasta dishes we had which were very delicious.
The service was very nice. Our waiter was ver attentive to us and took care of us and the atmosphere was very relaxed and easy to talk to people.
So scrumptious. We ordered a la carte, and had more than enough. The portions are quite decently sized, so I would advise not overordering. We started with the Spring Lettuces salad which was flavorful and fresh. Then we shared the Patata Bianca pizza, Carrot Agnolotti pasta, and Porcini Gnocchetti Sardi. All were super tasty and unique, and we had plenty of leftovers between the three of us. The Chocolate Budino we chose for dessert was actually underwhelming, yet the main dishes and salad that we shared outshined the so-so dessert. Great dinner and recommend making reservations well in advance.

a little skeptical coming after hearing mixed reviews but flour and water surprised me in the best way possible.
service was top tier with our server providing detailed recommendations. loved the complimentary sparkling water that was specifically mentioned.
all of the filled pastas were top tier!
carrot agnolotti: reminiscent of a cozy fall, had great spices and flavors. perfectly cooked pasta.
rainbow scarpinocc: the famous signature dish was tasty but honestly expected a little more. would still recommend though
porcini gnochetti sardi: highly recommend. creamy, rich, al dente pasta
budino: don’t typically like chocolate but wasn’t too sweet and decadent.

Had such a great experience at Flour + Water. I went with the tasting menu and every course was absolutely delicious—thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. You can really tell how much care goes into each dish.
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. A special touch that stood out: the chef sent out a complimentary appetizer, which was such a thoughtful surprise.
Overall, a beautiful dining experience from start to finish. I forgot to take some pictures of some other dishes.

Tried the SF restaurant week that is $90 per person. Service was great. Left the meal super full.
Pastas were wonderful especially the pea pasta. The dessert - a chocolate budino - had a super amazing espresso caramel cream that was perfect. I am not a mousse person but it was soooo good. The flaky salt was just the right amount.
