Crofter'S Kitchen

In an area with sparse in quality and quantity of reasteraunts and cafes etc. it's all to easy to call something above average as exceptional. However, Crofters Kitchen in Scourie truly is a cut above. It can get busy because of the reviews, and waiting times can be prolonged at these time but everyone says it's well worth the wait, and seeing the food served confirms this even before you taste it. The food is not only cooked fresh it's prepared fresh, muscles and scallops are not shelled until the order is placed and it carries through to the skill in cooking each dish to perfection. We visited on a cool windy day but joined the queue and had no thoughts of trying later as the food looked amazing, and every person who finished and left said it was more than worth the wait. Get yourself in line and you will have a culinary memory to match any of the scenery you see on the northwest coast.

Stopped by Crofters Kitchen Scourie and honestly loved it. The food was absolutely delicious . fresh, tasty, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was so good that we were already talking about coming back before we had even finished eating! The view was just as impressive as the food. Sitting there, enjoying a great meal while looking out at the beautiful scenery, made the whole experience feel extra special. A lovely place with great food, a warm atmosphere, and stunning views. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Scotland.

We had the most amazing lunch here today. They were kind enough to educate me on how to eat the langoustine, very patient and kind with me. The food was served piping hot and was so incredibly fresh. We definitely will return, it's brilliant value for money and just such a lovely place to enjoy a meal.

We had a great lunch at Crofter’s Kitchen during our trip around Scotland. The food was amazing, and the location next to a beautiful beach made it even better. You can either eat in or take your food away and enjoy the stunning views. If the weather isn't great, there is plenty of indoor seating available. Friendly service, delicious food, and a fantastic location – highly recommended!

There are NO toilets near to this food van, they are a good 10min walk away. My Dad who is 79, on a walking stick & has bone cancer asked for toilets, the lady said they are a few minutes walk away, turn left at the top of the road. Well the road is quite steep to get up, & then you have to walk down the hill to the toilets. You are better taking your car, but then you run the risk of not getting parked again, as they were so busy, so we waited for our food. All the indoor seating was taken, & so was the outdoor seating. Shows how popular it is, so we ate our food in the car. I did notice that whilst we were waiting for our food, the young chef coughed into his hands, & wrapped blue roll round 1 hand & continued with somebodies order. Dad had the prawn & crayfish roll. It was well filled. It was a bit hot/spicy for Dad, so he only ate half & took the other half home for dinner. Neither of us could finish the chips, so we should of got 1 between the 2 of us. I had 1 oyster, which tasted of the sea, & there was a little sea water in with it. Shows its fresh, & very tasty. I also had the langoustines which were very nice.
