I had guests visiting from out of town for Pride, one of which is celiac. She has really struggled with it in her life and lives in a part of the country that does not have options in restaurants. I wanted to take her to a completely gluten free restaurant so that she could have the experience of being able to order anything on the menu. I didn’t know what to expect as I have never eaten gluten free breads or pizzas, and I chose Clementina.
WOW. just wow. I was absolutely blown away by the food. There is sometimes a negative association with gluten free pizza or bread and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical but everything we had was SO GOOD. the focaccia was fluffy and the texture was so pleasing. The pizza was better than most in the city! The crust was tasty and crunchy and the toppings were well designed. To see the looks on my friends face as she ate the best gluten free breads she ever had was so incredibly rewarding.
This restaurant is very special and is a truly perfect option for anyone, dietary restriction or not, to go. Thank you so much for enabling this experience for us! The interior is cozy and pretty and the staff were great. We had some fantastic mocktails too, which I always appreciate on a menu as a non-drinker! also, shout out the slab of tiramisu we had for dessert!
Magical magical magical! I will definitely be back! As a celiac, this was a heavenly find, and I ate wayyyyyy too much! I was so excited that I forgot to take photos 🤣 however, we had the focaccia bread- HEAVEN. The pork cutlet, the lamb ragú, the tiramisu, and the chocolate cake. Everything was delicious! I will definitely be back!
Everything was great, especially the focaccia. Such a cute interior too. It’s so nice to go to a dedicated gf place that just feels like a normal restaurant :) I will definitely be back!
I am sharing my feedback regarding my recent visit. While the service was top-notch and the wine was delicious, I was disappointed with the food. The beet salad was unfortunately not very tasty; it would have been much better if they had added arugula and feta cheese. Additionally, the squid in the calamari pasta seemed spoiled. 🤢🤮
Clementina brought me back to when I was in Puglia Italy for my sister’s wedding. With my mom, sister, and myself being Celiac, eating gluten free in Italy was some of the best food experiences we’ve ever had . Being new to the Bay Area where finding good gluten free food is next to impossible, clementina was like traveling back in time to when I was in Italy. 100% gluten free restaurant, all family owned. The owner of the restaurant opened clementina because his daughters are both celiac and wanted to share the tradition or true northern Italian cooking with his family and with everyone here in San Francisco. Everything was fantastic from the calamari pasta to the fried pork cutlet, desserts, and wine selection, it is truly a gem.
