I’ve wanted to check out this place for quite some time but was pretty disappointed in my experience there.
I went on a Wednesday night with my boyfriend and another couple. While the atmosphere is cute/quaint, it’s quite warm inside and uncomfortable. Our server wasn’t very warm or friendly and I didn’t feel the service was anything to go back for like some
of the reviews described. She was rude and short with us.
The menu itself was pretty bland and forgettable for the Wednesday night that we came in. A farro ricotta salad, a tomato basil salad, a flounder fish dish and a pork chop were all that were offered app/entree wise. I tried everything and while I liked the cook of my fish, nothing blew me away.
For four glasses of wine, one app, and two entrees - our bill came out to $217 before tax. I am willing to spend a lot for good restaurants, but this place was not worth it and I would skip it if you’re in Charleston. I live here and there’s plenty of other more flavorful restaurants with better service that I could point you to.
Chez Nous has a great ambiance and would love to return! The food was delicious, and I love that the menu changes daily. The cod salad and pork chop were the favorites. I will say, we booked the community table where we sit at a long table next to other parties. I had not been before so I wasn’t sure what community table meant but next time I hope to get a separate table. It didn’t take away from the experience though, just something different to get used to. We chatted with the people next to us and they were great. Just make sure if you are looking for a romantic solo date- try to not book the community table. That being said- would love to come back!

Great meal with friends. The limited menu allows for a focus on excellence. I loved my duck and the bite of my wife’s fish was also delightful. I will remember the radish salad for a long time. Great wine list too.

We started with the grouper cheeks with leeks, a standout appetizer that was beautifully balanced and full of flavor delicate, comforting, and perfectly composed. For the main course, the bucatini al vongole was exceptional: generous, briny, and impeccably cooked, with a depth that speaks to true respect for ingredients and tradition.
The experience was elevated even further by the impeccable service from Hylton, whose professionalism, warmth, and timing were flawless. Attentive without being intrusive, he embodied genuine hospitality and made the evening feel effortless.
Chez Nous remains one of Charleston’s most rewarding dining experiences—unpretentious, precise, and deeply satisfying. A must-visit.

Truly a gem! We celebrated our anniversary here and from start to finish it was perfect. The setting is so quaint and beautiful. We sat at the bar for dinner and it was perfect. The menu changes daily and is prepared with intention behind the ingredients available that day. We had the lamb carpaccio& cabbage salad to start. Im still dreaming of the salad- it was so layered & flavorful! We each had the fish of the day and ended with the cinnamon ice cream and pot de creme - it was boozy, adorned with berries and so delicious.
