My friend and I recently celebrated a birthday at Charlie's Restaurant, and I cannot recommend it highly enough 👌🏽
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome. The service was exceptional throughout – attentive without being intrusive, warm, friendly, courteous and highly professional. Every member of the team helped make the celebration feel truly special 🎉
The food was absolutely delicious. Each dish was beautifully presented, with incredible flavour and wonderful textures that made every course a pleasure to enjoy. It's clear that great care and attention goes into every element of the dining experience 🙏🏽
The restaurant itself strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. It has a warm, cosy atmosphere whilst maintaining a sense of sophistication and class, making it an ideal setting for a special occasion or simply an unforgettable meal 👏🏽
Thank you to everyone at Charlie's for making our celebration so memorable! 🫶🏽
We left feeling thoroughly looked after, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Charlie's to anyone looking for outstanding food, exceptional service and a truly special dining experience 🌷⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rated food as 3 because the price charged does not line up with the quality on the plate.
Steak was too small, only 1 of the 3 purées was tasty and the chilli spring greens were cold and bitter. Desserts had no wow factor, 3 people at our table can make a good tiramisu - better than served here.
Service was also a 3, all the staff were friendly and informative. Just service was a little slower and less attentive than I’d expect for the price and the venue.
The venue itself is fantastic. It’s a special place perfect for a special occasion.

Charlie’s at Brown’s Hotel offers a refined dining experience with a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere.
During my visit, the restaurant was accompanied by a live jazz band, which added an elegant backdrop without overpowering the room. The setting felt intimate and thoughtfully designed.
Service was a clear highlight. The team demonstrated genuine care and enthusiasm, taking time to present dishes and even share small stories behind certain elements, including the butter and wine selections. These small details added a personal touch to the evening. Special thanks to our host Luigi, who was warm, welcoming and very hospitable.
The food was flavourful and well portioned, with dishes that were ideal for sharing. Service moved at a comfortable pace, with appetisers, bread, and drinks arriving steadily while waiting for the main courses.
Overall, Charlie’s delivers a well-executed dining experience with attentive service and a warm atmosphere.

The definition of British elegance. Everything about Charlie’s is welcoming, friendly, grand, beautiful, and delicious.
The staff are a delight, making you feel welcome and going out of their way to insist on giving you the perfect evening. They event told us about how Brown’s is the oldest hotel in London, and how the Queen used to come here for afternoon tea!
The atmosphere is everything I want in a restaurant — busy but not loud, grand but not intimidating, sophisticated but not overbearing.
We had steak tartare and tuna as starters, and venison and duck for mains. The venison was absolutely perfectly prepared with an exquisite sauce. The sides were arguably the best part. Even the chips… the chips were possibly the best chips I’ve ever eaten. Seriously, how do you make chips this good?!
The dessert… we couldn’t manage dessert. Or so we thought!
The waiter insisted on bringing us a light spoon of chocolate mousse that he prepared at the table for us. It was the perfect sweet and delightful surprise to round off an absolutely perfect evening in the heart of London.
I already can’t wait to return!
