Café Boulud is a gem. From the warm, polished service to the exquisite food, everything here feels effortlessly refined. I started with the pâte en croûte-flaky, rich, and beautifully spiced-followed by the coq au vin, which was fall-apart tender in a deeply flavorful red wine sauce. My dining companion had the sole meunière, perfectly filleted tableside and bathed in brown butter.
The ambiance strikes the ideal balance: elegant but never stuffy, with soft lighting and crisp white tablecloths. The wine list is well-curated, and the sommelier's recommendation was spot-on. For dessert, the vanilla mille-feuille was light as air with a caramelized crackle on top.
Yes, it's expensive, but worth every penny for a special occasion-or just because you love outstanding French cuisine. Daniel Boulud's team delivers flawless hospitality without a hint of pretension. Can't wait to return.
What a wonderful evening at Café Boulud at Maison Barnes. The ambience in Le Salon is fantastic- intimate, beautifully decorated, and uniquely designed. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. Our captain Danny deserves special recognition as he provided a level of service, professionalism and humor that went above and beyond, even by Michelin dining standards. The food was outstanding, with standouts being the Tarte Carotte-Vadouvan, the Salade de Printemps, and of course, the "Chobster" which represents "comfort food extraordinaire", and is well worth a splurge if you are fortunate enough to have the opportunity. Overall, a very memorable dining experience, and I look forward to my next visit. Merci pour cette merveilleuse soirée!
Excellent attention to detail, presentation of each dish was amazing. Everything we tried was tasty, tartlet with caramelized sweetbreads was quite unique. Cod confit was also delicious. There are several areas in the restaurant which creates a more private feel, ambiance is quite different in each area. Madelines were so light, a perfect finish for any meal if you are looking for something light.
My boyfriend and I went for Valentine’s Day. It was so wonderful. The prix fixe meal was delicious. The mushroom risotto was the best risotto I’ve ever had in my life! And the desserts were so artfully displayed. Every bite was amazing. Service was impeccable, with strong attention to detail. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Highly recommend.
We tried the restaurant week 3 course lunch. The food tasted great, well seasoned and balanced. I loved every bite.
I felt underfed at the eof my meal, whereas my two friends felt very full. I assume it’s bcz one of them got risotto and the other a chicken dish while I got the fish which was a thin slice and light to eat. Again during dessert I liked my dessert the best over the other two we ordered at the table to taste all three dessert options.
the bread was too cold for me to enjoy and we didn’t get any butter at our table!
But overall the visit was pleasant with nice tasting dishes.
