Came for my partners birthday and this has been on my list for ages!
We chose the counter seating so we could see the food being cooked and have a different experience to just sitting at a normal table at a restaurant. Safe to say, it did not disappoint. The vibes of the place, the smell, the food - incredible!
We were greeted and seen to our table by the gorgeous Zara, who made our experience absolutely incredible. She is a real credit to the burnt orange team. So friendly, warm and knowledgable!
We had the grilled marinaded prawns to start (absolutely mind blowing and I would pay for the recipe!!! You HAVE to get these) and spiced calamari fritti calamari to start. Pork collar, bbq chicken thigh, roasted cod and sprouting broccoli.
I mentioned on the booking it was my partners birthday that day and got a little complimentary sweet treat for desert 🥲
We will 100% be back and cannot recommend enough!!
The manager didn’t seem to fit the feel and friendliness of the place I must say!
We had a great time at Burnt Orange. The food was fantastic and the service was friendly and enthusiastic. Our waitress was Zara and she was charming and gave good advice. Every dish was delicious but the Cabbage and Muhamara was especially good. I’d also recommend the desserts; the whipped mascarpone was lovely.
We sat at the counter which was a lot of fun - watching the kitchen passed the time very enjoyably.

If there was a higher rating than a '5', like a 'special mention or a gold star', I would award it to Burnt Orange, for our exceptional meal and wonderful experience on Sunday for my daughters 21st birthday.
After a 'nearly didn't make it from London' moment, we were welcomed warmly and assured that it wasn't a problem, despite how busy the restaurant was.
We began with cocktails; my Gin/Lemon Verbena Gimlet was exceptional, my husband had the delicious Burnt Orange Martini and my daughter a properly spicy Pineapple Picante. We opted for a light, fruity, Chenin Blanc which was a perfect choice to go with the food.
As a party of 3 we had a 'Burnt Orange Experience Menu' for 2 and some additional dishes from the main Vegetarian menu. The menu is designed as sharing plates, with a recommendation of 3-4 per person across the starters and main courses. Although I am not a meat eater the addition of two vegetarian dishes and an extra starter was more than enough for three people; as the experience menu had a lot of vegetarian food on it.
Everything was tasty and memorable, but my absolute favourite dishes were the Miso Aubergine, a Spinach, Feta and Filo dish, sumptuous grilled prawns and the Hispy Cabbage.
I honestly cant recommend Burnt Orange highly enough, from its beautiful, tactile and rustic interior with warm earthy and muted neutral colour palate, to its beautiful warm, earthy food, exceptional cocktails and absolutely lovely waiting staff.
We were looking for something special, and found it here..I look forward to returning to this beautiful restaurant; it's an absolute gem, a bright star amongst sea of eateries in Brighton.

First visit to this amazing restaurant through recommendation. Everything was perfect from the hospitality to the food. Every dish was special but our favourites were the citrus cured Bass and the Lamb chops (some of the best Lamb I have had) Definitely a venue we would return to if in Brighton again.

Nestled In the back streets in Brighton, just a short walk from the seafront this charming restaurant gives a modern, European feel, with a small outside covered dinning area. You enter into a bright open bar entrance, with a large wrap around bar area surrounding the open kitchen. I set in the counter overlooking the chefs Doing their thing. I could see all the amazing dishes being set out and ready to go. So much choice, it was difficult what to choose.
A lovely collection of cocktails are a must here…with seasonal specials to select from.
Staff are friendly and keen to assist and happy to suggest food and drink parings and food descriptions.
Food is amazing - a wood fired oven gives everything an amazing flame grilled and bbq taste to the food - great care is given to the preparation, and don’t get me started on the drinks….amazing.
You won’t be walking away from this place with a cheap bill, but let’s face it, you get what you pay for.
The whole place has a romantic, cosy feel, Ideal for dates, couples and small gatherings. There’s no kids menu but it’s not the sort of place you’d take them.
I will 100% be coming back here! And this time with a group… this will become my go to place when in Brighton. 5 star food and 5 star restaurant 👍🏻
