From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff! Everyone was welcoming, right down to the cleaner who was polishing the stairs! At the entrance of the Lounge, the friendly waitress took us to our table. We had beautiful yellow leather chairs and felt like the Queen sitting on the throne! We looked at the menu and chosen our teas. The waitress said we could try different ones which was amazing!! The food came in stages and we did not feel rushed at all. We came for a catch up and reunion and it was perfect for us. The teas came with a timer to ensure they were brewed food the right amount of time. The selection of sandwiches and rolls came first and they were beautifully made. All tasted delicious and fresh! The waitress asked which was our favourite and offered us extras. I loved the crab roll and duly orders another!! Then the scones and sweets came. It looked like a work of art on the table!! All beautifully presented and candy to the eye!! They all tasted amazing!!
We absolutely loved it here and it’s is truly a hidden gem! We left with a warm feeling and can’t wait to return!!
We went for afternoon tea on a Saturday. It wasn’t like the traditional English afternoon teas. We stayed here for a few hours and it was just such a chilled environment.
The food had exotic flavours. We were able to smell the different teas and choose before we went for it, which was a nice touch.
We requested halal prior to the visit and they were also very helpful with dietary requirements.
It was a nice cosey environment.
Would recommend and thanks for having us!

This is the best afternoon tea we’ve ever had! I spent a lot of time researching different more well known places but this seemed to have way more interesting food options for the same price. As soon as we stepped into the hotel, the staff were incredibly friendly and caring. Then we were led to our seats and the atmosphere was so calm and relaxing which I think would be definitely less so at other places. We were served by a lovely man who said his nickname was Harry so thank you to Harry for the amazing care!! The service was attentive and sincere and he explained everything thoroughly and we never felt rushed the whole time. We felt really looked after by everyone. The sandwiches were the best we’ve ever had at an afternoon tea! Really unique and fresh and delicious. Our favourites were the crab and grapefruit with trout roe roll and the salmon croissant with poached egg and pickled onion. They let us have extra! We got to try two different teas too. Overall you get lots of food at a very high standard that you don’t get anywhere else. I’m surprised it’s not very well known compared to other afternoon teas but I do love how it’s a hidden gem selfishly. Would definitely come back again! Had the loveliest time and think i’d struggle to find a better afternoon tea! ❤️❤️

Came here for the afternoon tea to celebrate my 30th birthday with my husband and I had high expectations considering the hotel reputation and the reviews online, but have to say I left pretty disappointed especially with the taste of the food and cakes.
First up was a round of the savoury sandwiches: - I did enjoy the crab roll and the flavour was good but nothing outstanding for a high end afternoon tea, especially when the brioche bun was dry… then Salmon gravlax on toasted croissant
with quail egg was my second favourite, nothing to complaint about. Then the good flavours stops here, didn’t understand the BBQ corn bread with cured Wagyu beef at all, it was a bit of dry chewy beef on dry carbohydrate and flavour profiles didn’t go together either, cheese sandwich was just so plain that it’s no different fr a home made toasted cheese on toast.
Moving on the sweets, would prefer my scones to be more risen and crumbly, and the patisseries were on the sweets and heavy side which may be prefer by some but it was all a bit too much for me, while one of the tray bakes ( marble chocolate one) was so dry and I couldn’t take a second bite.
The selection of tea was good and I liked the atmosphere, service can be slow at times but we weren’t in hurry but would I go back again? No and was it worth the money? No either.

The service the food and the atmosphere were great … The vegan offering was very tasty and the presentation was different from the usual 3 layered tea plates so our eyes were also treated. We got to smell the tea leaves as well before ordering tea. The service was so attentive. We enjoyed ourselves immensely … and we had seconds too !
