Overall a superlative good meal. The food is creative with a number of standout dishes including tarragon panna cotta. This exceeds any of the Michelin spots in SF for cooking quality
What an exceptional, stunning meal that blows all the fine dining cliches across America out of the water. Comfortable chairs, impeccable service, and an effortless ambiance to match. 9 of 10 dishes just make you feel like an idiot (in the best way), that chef managed to make food taste this good and the rest of us are mere mortals.
My one nit - after such a successful rebuttal to the tired mignardises of Michelin coded restaurants… why end the meal with a silly berry jelly? If you must end the check with something edible, leave a piece of gum instead so your customers chew on the afterglow of your meal the whole ride home. That said, it’s chef’s restaurant, he should do whatever he wants :)

Went to Athanor (formerly Anomaly SF) to celebrate my partner's birthday. The menu was exceptional and transformative! We really didn't know what to expect, but the overall experience was so good. Our personal favorites from the menu were the crudo and the salmon that literally melts in your mouth. The pacing of serving the food was quite slow but I think it was necessary in order to pace ourselves. At the end of the night, we walked out feeling satisfied and happy!
