We had a family Pasquetta lunch at Agriturismo Ferdy, and it was like stepping into a fairytale. You cross the bridge to see the beautiful farmhouse, hear the bells on the necks of nearby cattle, and pet the free-roaming donkey and ponies. There is an informality and hospitality here that immediately puts you at ease.
Our meal was delightful - we loved the "mountain welcome," especially the herb meatballs, although some of these (like the rice and milk soup) were a bit bland to my taste. The plate of their homemade cheeses was amazing, as was the bread and mound of whipped butter. The pasta, meat course, and wine pairings were delicious as well. Stefano, our server, was fantastic and was able to explain the detailed story behind the harvesting of each ingredient from having worked with Ferdy himself in the mountain pasture. Our two little children were warmly welcomed, and we noted many other families with children. After a two-hour meal, the kids were getting antsy - Alice noticed right away and offered to set a table for us outside for dessert while the kids ran around. This attention to our needs made us feel truly cared for.
After our meal, we went for pony rides and Alice recommended a lovely walk for us, on a trail running right along the property.
We had a magical day at Agriturismo Ferdy and cannot wait to return.
