It is fundamentally crafted from pisco, a Peruvian brandy, combined with sour citrus juice and sweetener components. The Peruvian rendition specifically includes Peruvian pisco, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, ice, egg white, and Angostura bitters. A similar Chilean version uses Chilean pisco and Pica lime, but omits the bitters and egg white.
