Came here for a birthday. The price is what you want the experience to be. Erin was pur server and I will say, they made us feel like we owned the place! Their service was impeccable. They were organized, structured, communicative, and part of the environment. From the moment we walked into this art gallery it was VIP! They knew who our reservation was. They asked questions, took our coats, labeled our umbrellas and might as well have taken off our shoes! We traveled over 45 mins for a birthday but plan on making it a romantic destination in the future!
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary here over the weekend. We had been wanting to try this place for a while and we're glad we spent a special night there.
The restaurant is very cool, large but with intimate seating. Decor is very nice. Our drinks were fantastic, I got a House of Hummingbirds and it was delicious. The Espresso Martinis with our chocolate ganache for desert were lovely.
My salmon was delicious, my husband noted his wagyu beef burger was unseasoned for his first two bites, though he said it was rectified after he got some of the sauce in a bite and realized why the burger was "under seasoned."
Overall, we had a lovely dinner. Our server was very attentive. We will return another time if the opportunity arrises and we're looking forward to trying their breakfast place (Morning Bird) downstairs sometime. Thank you for a great night!
This has been one of our absolute favorite restaurants since it opened, but for Valentine's Day they did a truly special limited menu that we very much enjoyed. Each course had ample selection, vegetarian options, and despite being busy at no point did we "feel the hectic" that the wonderful staff was no- doubt feeling. It was a wonderful relaxed evening that left us smiling all the way home.
This restaurant is exceptional. I had one of the best meals in years. We started with the daikon salad. I then ordered the rainbow trout and my son got the katsu chicken. Everything was SO tasty. We had chocolate ganache for dessert. I highly recommend The Aviary. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Legitimately terrific food. Bright flavors. Creative presentation. Tremendous variety and versatility throughout the menu. Not "legit for upstate NY." Legit for anywhere (and I say that as a traveler and a foodie!). Worth traveling for a visit!
