Wow. From start to finish we had a fabulous afternoon - Magali was very kind in accommodating us despite a voucher issue and gave us a warm welcome. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable on the dishes. And the food, what can I say - perfection. The pork and fish mains were especially exceptional. The bread appetiser - wow. We will certainly be back for the taster menu so we can experience more dishes!
Don’t hesitate to visit, you will not be disappointed.
I visited twice in the space of two months, which says everything you need to know. The first time I came as a solo diner, and before I’d even finished my meal I knew I had to come back with my husband. I even ordered the same tasting menu because it was that good – and somehow it was every bit as magical the second time.
From the moment you walk in, everything feels considered. The welcome is warm, the setting is calm, earthy and beautiful, and it immediately puts you at ease.
Every single dish is beautifully balanced while still managing to surprise you with every bite. The fish starter completely stole my heart. The contrast of the delicate dill snow, sweet apple and warm radishes shouldn’t work as well as it does, but it absolutely sings. I genuinely had to order it again on my second visit because I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
The pork fillet was unbelievably tender and buttery, but for me the real star was the silky pea purée. It was so good I found myself peeking into the kitchen to see if they happened to sell it by the jar!
Then came the rum-soaked sugar loaf pineapple dessert, which somehow tasted like sunshine and a perfectly mixed cocktail in a bowl. Pure happiness.
The wine pairings deserve a special mention too. They were completely different on both visits, taking us from Hungary to Japan, and every glass felt thoughtfully chosen to elevate each course rather than simply accompany it.
And just when you think the experience couldn’t get any better… they wheel out the cheese trolley. At that point I was genuinely considering moving in permanently.
This is one of those rare restaurants where every detail is exceptional. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, the service is flawless, and the food delivers moment after moment of genuine joy. I’ve been lucky enough to eat in some wonderful restaurants, and this is without question one of the very best dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Really enjoyed our visit to sō-lō. We came for the Sunday roast and it was great, started out with a cocktail in the bar area, always a plus to me when you spend time in multiple places not just at your table for the entire time.
Food wise everything was delicious, really enjoyed the asparagus, the beef was excellent, whilst the main cut was great, I couldn't get enough of the shin and probably the best yorkies I've ever had. We tried the Pattingham Pinot Noir, typically don't have high expectations for English reds but this was very nice. Also enjoyed the chance to have some Panama Geisha.
Definitely reccomend and very approachable. I definitely want to come back for the full weekday menu!

Following our third visit we still find this restaurant outstanding. My neice had a signed birthday card waiting at our table too!
Thank you to all at Sō-lō.
