The beef carpaccio here is great, served with a yummy garnish and bread on the bottom. The wings came with six pieces total; the portion size felt a bit small, but the Korean-style sauce had amazing flavor!
The steak was also excellent, served medium-rare with a great variety of sauces. I loved the salmon too—it had crispy skin, and the accompanying risotto and asparagus paired perfectly with it.
To top it off, the dessert was super flavorful.
From the cooking skills to the plating, this restaurant rocks!
Reservation online was easy; no wait for our table. Appetizer, drinks and food were all great. The Chef brought out our main course. Our server applied my military discount; I didn't even know to ask. Would come again.
Great spot for drinks and a bite with friends! The food was delicious and the drinks didn't disappoint. Even though we waited a little past our reservation time due to the cozy size of the place, the staff was great about acknowledging it. Excellent hospitality and worth the wait. We’ll definitely be back!
At The Savage Chef Grill in Menifee tonight...OMG their food is so good!
Calamari with shishito peppers. Very tasty but the breading kept falling off. The dipping sauce qas also great. But the Harissa Grilled Octopus was simply amazing! Soft toasted bread points and a wonderful medley of garbanzo beans and tomatoes bathed in a savory sauce.
I had a smoked old fashioned with smoked cognac, banana liqueur, black walnut Bitters, and a torched/Brûlée banana garnish.
Entrée and sides! We shared a
16oz NY (36 day dry aged) with sauce flight (bernaise, red wine, chimichurri, and house steak sauce).
Sides were Roasted Winter Vegetables and Horseradish Mashed Potatoes.
Dessert was a Sticky Toffee Pudding. Yum!
1st time at the Savage Chef and today is my birthday so it was a special occasion. The service was great. Waiters and waitresses were polite, gave us the chef's recommendation of the day and was helpful explaining certain dishes.
The food was disrespectfully flavorful. Started out with the PB&J glazed chicken wings. The wings were deliciously flavorful, juicy and crunchy. But it's that's PB&J sauce that done did it. When your taste buds hit that sauce, you'll understand what I'm talking about. I should have order me some wings and that sauce to go but I was operating in my "self control" persona. You ain't gonna be disappointed. I had the Wagu burger and it was sensational. My mother had the Red wine braised short ribs and our family friend had the meatloaf. They both enjoyed their meals, however, I remember our family friend saying that she would have recommended less gravy on her meatloaf. But that's all she said. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our meals.
I order the IYKYK (If You Know, You Know) Cognac. Very smooth and tasteful with a hint of banana flavor. I wanted another drink but I was the driver lol. You gotta try this if your a brown drinker.
Toward the end of our meal, the restaurant staff had surprised me with a campfire s'mores birthday desert. It was very very good. Our family friend had order the caramel apple cheesecake. Now THAT thang is dangerous. You don't believe me? Order it and comment on my review and tell me different lol.
The only flaw I must report on, is that there was one ceiling/wall light that kept flickering like a strobe light which was kind of annoying but it didn't last the entire time of the dinner. But it was very noticeable. I hope they fix that soon. Another thing is, not every table has lighting. Ours, fortunately, had a table lamp and it was super helpful while reading the menu, eating our food and of course taking photos of the food lol.
All in all, I had a great time, I definitely recommend this place to others and I will be returning. This place knows how to make a good impression on their customers, make them feel welcomed and treat them like first class.
