With over 14,000 reviews and still able to maintain a 4.6 star review rating? It's got to be good! - Internal monologue as a browsed Google maps on one of my late night hunger swipe marathon.
Walked in at noon and the place was packed with around 10 people ahead of us which was surprising cause Google said it was "less busy than usual", makes you wonder how off the wall bonkers it'll be when it actually gets busy!
For a table for two, we waiting less than 5 minutes which is great. We got a nice corner spot, with a nice small table.
The menu can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the table, but the menu is kind of hard to read (the font and layout is a bit crammed together). We went with the recommended ones from Google reviews as pictured in the receipt photo.
Favourite was the "Pao Gra Prow Moo Grob", with ground pork and pork belly medium spicy. The taste was out of this world, the meat was super flavorful with hints of chili, fish sauce and smokiness on a huge bed of rice.
The thai chicken wing was good along with the "Khao Soi" but they weren't really outstanding.
The least favorite was the "Mango Slaw", which was super sour...way to sour to finish. Even they need to add a bunch more peanuts to balance it out or less vinegar.
All in all it was a great experience, FYI tip prompt starts at 18% coupled with high appertizer price it can be more expensive than expected.
The food was delicious!!!!
After lining up, the wait for our meal wasn't too long. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has a pleasant atmosphere.
One thing to note is that the server didn't always keep an eye on our table, so if you need a refill or anything else, you'll likely have to flag them down. Overall, though, the food and ambiance made for an enjoyable experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Absolutely amazing! The food at PAI was outstanding from start to finish. We ordered the tofu Pad Thai, shrimp fried rice, mango salad, and spring rolls, and every single dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavour.
This is hands down the best Thai food I’ve ever had and it absolutely lives up to the hype. The ingredients were fresh, the portions were generous, and everything tasted authentic and delicious. I can see why this place is so popular!
Services could have been better but the food made up for it. It wasn’t just slow but the lady didn’t take instructions well and was not very attentive. I had to ask twice for straws and to have empty plates removed even though she had come to the table twice. We hardly had space to begin with so clearing empty plates should be a priority.
Nonetheless, I’ll definitely be back for more. ❤️😋 Highly recommend to anyone looking for incredible Thai food in Toronto! I’m excited for the Square One location to open since it’s closer to me.
We’ve been to PAI a couple of times now, and it has never disappointed us. Every visit has been consistently excellent, from the food to the service.
For starters, we ordered the Kung Tawt (garlic shrimp) and the shrimp chips. Both were absolutely delicious and a great way to start the meal. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, while the shrimp chips were light, crispy, and addictive.
For our mains, we ordered two Chef Nuit Pad Thais with beef, and they were outstanding. The portions were very generous, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. We also had the chicken Khao Soi, which was rich, comforting, and full of depth. To round out the meal, we tried the Khao Pla Twat (fried fish), which was cooked perfectly and served with a generous portion of fish and rice wrapped in a banana leaf.
Every dish was exquisitely prepared, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into both the presentation and flavor of the food.
Despite arriving later in the evening, the wait time was minimal. We were quoted 15–25 minutes but ended up getting seated in about 10 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise.
PAI continues to be one of the best restaurants in Toronto. The food is consistently exceptional, the portions are generous, the service is efficient, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you receive. Highly recommended for anyone looking for incredible Thai food in the city.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pure Perfection!
This spot is a culinary masterpiece. The Tom Yum Prawn soup was spectacular—fiery, beautifully sour, and packed with plump, tender prawns.
The absolute showstopper, though, was the green curry with crusted fried fish. The crispy texture of the fish paired with that vibrant, velvety sauce was pure genius, especially alongside the fragrant leaf-wrapped jasmine rice.
💡 Must-Try: You cannot leave without ordering the Thai iced tea gelato. It is absolutely divine and the perfect refreshing finish!
Fantastic service and unforgettable flavors. **10/10.**
