The hubs & I decided to head to Tiffin, OH and noticed we would be traveling near Luckey, Oh. I have followed The Burger Review Guy on Social Media & have tried several restaurants based on his reviews. But today, we stopped at hiThe Burger Review Guy's restaurant - The Luckey Junction.I tried the Bacon Cheeseburger - medium well cook requested. I selected Cheddar cheese, pickles & onions only. Upgrading to onion rings. The hubs chose the BLT with waffle fries.
The bacon was a bit of a disappointment. It was 3 pieces & over cooked. And I may be picky, but I would have wanted a thicker cut bacon. The bun was slightly cooked, the onions & pickles were fresh. The bottom bun did not have a good char/cook and fell apart from the juice from pickles & cheeseburger. The burger was seasoned well, but it was well done and not medium-well. It was very juicy. I asked for A1 as it is made with steak and I do like a bit of steak sauce on my cheeseburger if made with steak. But they didn't have have A1, I had to settle for yellow mustard. If I throw out a review like The Burger Review Guy, the Cheeseburger was a 8.5 out of 10. The onion rings were huge & freshly breaded. But the breading needed a little salt and pepper in the seasoning. There were no sauces offered (a little horseradish sauce adds a bit of taste for the breading missing any seasoning. So I dipped them in a little ketchup, but I am not a fan of ketchup.)
The hubs BLT, was a bit dry due to the overcooked bacon. He also was surprised there wasn't any mayonnaise on the sandwich. But he did say it wasn't a stopper from returning to try another meal. The waffle fries were simple and may have to try the regular fries next time.
So when we have another try south of Toledo, we will return as over all it was pretty good. Lesson learned for me, is to order a burger as a Medium cook...to get a little pink. The hubs is going to try the Fish meal. So something to look forward to.
Our waitress seemed frustrated with me, as I wasn't familiar with the menu and ready to order. All in all, she did stop to ask if I wanted another beverage and a box. But she didn't seem very engaging for a small town waitress. And again, not a reason to not stop back. But it will be based on our itinerary and not a spur of the moment discussion of her let's hop in the Jeep drive to Luckey and go out to eat for fun.
As for the bar/restaurant. It is nicely refreshed on the interior. Reminds me of my Indiana hometown bar. Go grab a good burger if you're traveling OH 75 between Toledo & Bowling Green, OH.
