What a wonderful diner! It has such an amazing, welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel right at home. The food was perfectly seasoned—every bite was flavorful and delicious. The portions were generous and plentiful without being overly heavy, striking that perfect balance. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I would highly recommend this spot and can’t wait to go back!
Lonestar Market & Cafe has, by far, become my most visited restaurant in downtown Lynchburg, and for good, delicious reasons! 😋
I try something new every time I sit at the bar, and I have yet to be disappointed. With their open concept kitchen, I get to witness the magic of this team firsthand. They make a busy kitchen look easy, and it's honestly mesmerizing to watch. 😍 The service is bar none. David, the GM, takes great care of everyone who walks through the door, so do David, Lydia, and Kim. In the kitchen, Chef Lauren, Julianna, and Patrick turn out incredible food with genuine love and care. The staff is so personable, their camaraderie makes dining here feel like eating with friends. 🤗
From the Wagyu smash burgers, weekly omelet specials, smoked salmon, scratch made biscuits, perfectly seasoned fries, prime rib specials, THE BLT, chicken wings, loaded cinnamon buns big enough to share (or keep all to myself 👀), mimosa flights, and a fully stocked coffee bar, there is always something worth coming back for.
And if that were not enough, there is an entire marketplace to browse. Frozen meals, grab and go sandwiches, a cooler full of beverages, snacks, pet food, soaps, candles, you name it. Whether you are stopping in for brunch, coffee, or just to stock up on a few things, Lonestar somehow has it all! You'll see me here at least once a week, join me!

The Lone Star in Lynchburg, Virginia, deserves a Michelin star! This restaurant has everything going for it: a beautiful atmosphere, an amazing menu, an open kitchen, and a friendly, professional staff. You can choose between comfortable table seating and counter seating, depending on your preference.
It also features a gourmet-themed food mart stocked with exceptional wines, spices, and other delightful consumables, along with delicious sandwiches, cookies, and cakes. The real star, however, is the brunch menu—it is absolutely outstanding.
The center of the culinary world should be moved from New York to Lynchburg! If you’re visiting the area, The Trading Post is a must-stop destination.

The restaurant is inside the old 1900s Woolworth building with a tin ceiling and a lunch counter...really nice, except that day the restaurant smelled of old grease or burnt oven smell. We were there for a late morning week-day breakfast and the place was not at all busy, so it was strange to stand next to the 'wait to be seated sign' for a few minutes before the host standing next to us put down his phone and seated us. But after the meal was great, the waitress was very perky and attentive and the food was delicious....Lone Star Migas and Lone Star Salad.
