HôTel Concorde La Fayette

This hotel does not measure up to Hyatt standards. Hotel- The touchscreen elevator controls are atrocious. Poor overall design and low sensitivity. 19th floor Guest Rooms- Bathroom shower doors edge seals are split and falling off, shower water control knob is missing the cover, toilet is dirty under the rim. Moldy and dirty tile grout. Windo Skybar- Instead of a host, the Bus Boy greets us at the lounge entrance and approves me to bring and consume my personal wine there. Once we were seated at a table, with my wine bottle set on the table, I asked the waitress for 2 red wine glasses. She dissappears and is replaced by the young Floor manager, who rudely disallows it. Seems like training issues abound there; both with the bus boy and the floor manager. Drinks on the menu are grossly overpriced!

We had a pretty good stay at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile. It’s not the absolute best Hyatt Regency I’ve stayed at, but it’s above average. We had the Regency suite which was just connected rooms. The rooms are larger than the average Paris hotel room but still small by American standards. The room quality was fine, nothing too special but clean. The real star of the room was the Eiffel Tower view. We had club access because we stayed in a suite. The club here is ok. Again the real standout is the Eiffel Tower view. I was expecting better food and drink options given this is France. They pale in comparison to say Hyatt Regency Tokyo. Even the wines were not good. Funny enough HR Tokyo serves better French Champagne than this club. Some people complain about the location but it was fine for us as tourists. The Arc de Triomphe is walkable as well as Champs Elysees. We actually walked all the way down to Tuileries, but I wouldn’t recommend that when it’s 100 degrees out. There are good RER and Metro connections nearby. We took a taxi from CDG and got here in ~35 minutes. The service was good overall. They came by the room after we checked in and left a bottle of wine and juice for the kids which was a nice touch. The wine was better quality than what they serve in the club and I appreciated that. I would stay here again.

Great views of the tower from both the room and the club lounge. The lounge itself had fairly limited food options, but the breakfast on the first floor was much better. I especially enjoyed the chia seed fruit pudding. As a Globalist, I was upgraded to the regency suite for only one night since there was a large conference group staying at the hotel, although it was essentially a connecting-room layout rather than a traditional suite. It would actually be a nice option for larger families traveling together. The standard king room on a high floor is quite small, so I wouldn’t recommend spending much time in the room. That said, the hotel’s location is excellent for sightseeing, and if your plan is to be out exploring the city most of the day, it’s a great base.

This hotel is not up to Hyatt standards IMO. Lobby is lovely but rooms horrible and small. Rooms need major refurbishing. We had planned a six night stay and had booked a deluxe room at over 350 € per night; when I discussed the sorry room with front desk, they told me that a deluxe room means a high floor. Never heard that before. Anyway, we cancelled our reservation and found a Marriott at a better rate with full breakfast included. Would not recommend this hotel.
