Hooligan

This was my first time at Hooligans (I don't live nearby). I ordered a traditional macchiato and a house espresso tonic. They served the macchiato with sparkling water, and it was exactly the right temperature. Tasted exactly like a macchiato should. The espresso tonic was also right on target. They appear to be using Presta beans, which is a good choice. Very nice place that I'll visit next time I'm nearby again.

I stopped by this café near home to read my book, and the experience was genuinely wonderful. The customer service stood out immediately—they answered all my questions about sweetened drinks and even offered to remake my latte if the half‑sweet version was still too sweet for me. That kind of consideration is rare, especially for someone like me who prefers just a hint of sweetness rather than the heavy sugar most places use. What makes this café even more special is the atmosphere. Lush plants fill the space, and a gentle waterfall runs along the outside wall, creating a calming, nature‑like setting. It feels like stepping into a little green sanctuary—peaceful, refreshing, and perfect for slowing down with a good drink. Their sage Latte is robust with flavors and I can't wait to go back to try the other drinks. This place deserves a 5 star for providing organic flavors, healthy experience, and exceptional service. I truly recommend this café for anyone seeking a welcoming environment, thoughtful service, and a space that supports both community and well‑being.

To start, I’ve been here a bunch of times before and have had no previous complaints. However, I’ve also never asked for a drink to be remade. I ordered the s’mores latte after it was recommended by the worker. I mentioned I wasn’t a big fan of chocolate and she told me the flavors were balanced and it was just a light chocolate flavor. I ordered it with lighter chocolate anyways just in case. It was not good and all I could taste was the chocolate. I also realized I forgot to order it with oat milk. I decided to ask them to remake it without the chocolate and with oat milk (I was planning to pay for the milk, of course), and the worker informed me that she would have to charge me for a full second drink per policy. The drink was nearly $9, so hard no. I get the logic from a profit standpoint, but the negative impact on the customer experience is a choice trade off. They saved some money in product I guess and I left with a $9 drink that I don’t want to drink and a sour experience. I will go elsewhere. Super disappointing.

I asked for less ice than normal since they only do 16 oz. iced lattes. I received a cup literally full of ice. Maybe 8 oz. total of coffee. I also ordered two tacos, which were pulled from a hot drawer. These tacos have been steaming v. being kept cold and heated. Soggy tortillas shells and tasteless flavors with the vegan and brisket. Too expensive for poor quality. Quality and options at Black Rife is much better.
