My family went to the Chef’s Table for my birthday, and the experience was extremely disappointing. We were seated at a table with about 24 people, and it appeared that roughly half of the table were paying customers while the other half were friends of the chef. Throughout the meal, the chef and his wife seemed to focus almost entirely on their friends while largely ignoring the actual paying customers. It honestly felt like we had paid for the chef to host a private party for his friends at our expense.
Every course came out cold or room temperature. From what I could see, plates were lined up in the kitchen without any heat lamps, while the freshly plated dishes were consistently served to the chef’s friends first. For a special birthday dinner, this was unacceptable and not the experience we expected. I was very disappointed, and I would not return.
