Amano

Dropped into Amano for breakfast lead by really good reviews of this establishment. The food, coffee and ambience did not disappoint at all. Freshly baked, brewed and prepped. Super tasty and very much matching the hype Service was very professional and efficient but could do a half step better with a bit more warmth and friendliness but otherwise food and drink is enough to bring me back including trying a lunch and/or dinner next trip I am back in Auckland

Thank you so much for your hospitality. Tempranillo & Feijoa cocktails were extremely well-balanced and good structure. Wine selection is genuinely exhaustive. Food was good but we found the venison carpaccio slightly too oily but tasty. Our highlights of the night were monkfish, lamb pasta, duck liver. But we truly enjoyed the view from the kitchen counter. The host was kind to seat us earlier than our booking time. We will proper come back to try differents options next time.

This was probably the best restaurant I've ever been to. I went for lunch and immediately had to come back for dinner. A few days later, I even returned a third time to celebrate the end of a very long trip. It was the best decision I could have made. The food was outstanding every time. Even the vegetarian side dishes with my steak brought a smile to my face because they were so delicious. The service was excellent. Several staff members recognized me independently and greeted me. They were also extremely helpful and attentive (I swear I didn't do anything to put a spotlight on me). The atmosphere is perfect, too. Modern, yet cozy and very pleasant, even when it's busy. I really can't imagine what could be improved. Thank you for a wonderful end to my trip!

Undoubtedly, this was the best breakfast we've had at any restaurant in Auckland (we lived and worked in Auckland for more than ten years before 2013). Although Amano was already full when we arrived, we were promptly shown to our table. Looked around, we were immediately impressed by the restaurant stunning interior. The seaside setting, combined with its distinctive decor, creates a space that feels both grand and warm. Despite the busy morning, the chefs, bartenders, and other front of house staff worked together seamlessly, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The frittata and smashed meatballs were beautifully prepared and presented. The homemade sourdough bread paired with salsa rossa, egg and olive oil, was full of flavour, leaving a wonderful lingering aroma and taste. Their signature hot drinks were the perfect way to warm up on a chilly morning. Highly recommended restaurant in Auckland!

Great vibe, we sat at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere. Food highlights: Scampi Pasta (amazing, should've gotten one each!), followed by Pan Roasted Monkfish & cauliflower, then Chargrilled Lamb Rump & beetroot. The lamb was well-done and a bit tough — would try it medium next visit. Highly recommend!
