A very, very delicious restaurant on a bustling street right in the heart of Afytos, not far from the village square. The food was excellent; we ordered and shared the appetizer platter with five different “dips” and garlic bread (be sure to order an extra serving of bread—the garlic bread is never enough for all those rich dips). Each dip was a work of art in its own right, and the mix was a perfect start. Because the portions were so generous, we also shared the main course—grilled calamari (whole) from the charcoal grill. These were nearly perfect as well, melt-in-your-mouth tender with a pleasant charcoal aroma. Only the side dish (lentil salad) might not be to everyone’s taste. Otherwise, though, it was a perfect Greek dinner that left nothing to be desired. The staff was also very friendly and attentive—and, above all, patient in explaining the contents of the appetizer platter several times—highly recommended.
Incredibly outstanding customer service! This place is a beautiful hidden gem right in the heart of the old town, offering a fantastic atmosphere. The menu features a great variety of local Greek dishes, each with a brilliant modern twist. Everything we ordered was delicious, exceptionally fresh, and incredibly tasty. We had heard great things before coming, and our experience completely confirmed the hype. Really nice music too!
It was a wonderful experience. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. The pasta with shrimp was outstanding, and the saganaki was excellent. Fava was great. Vasilis and the other lady on the staff (unfortunately, I don’t know her name) were incredibly helpful and gave us great recommendations. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back.
After having dinner at one of the beachfront restaurants in Afytos, we decided to try a restaurant on one of the smaller streets nearby, mainly because we wanted to have some wine and try something different.
The welcome here was much warmer and friendlier compared with the beachfront restaurants. The staff were very attentive, and we had a really nice meal.
We also tried their wines. The wines were not particularly impressive for our taste, but the meat was very good. The concept is quite interesting: you choose the piece of meat you like together with the waiter, they weigh it, and you pay according to the weight. The meat is around €110 per kilogram.
We had four glasses of wine, around 500 g of meat, and a small appetizer, and paid €90 in total. We were actually quite full, so considering the amount of food we had, we found the overall price reasonable, although the meat itself is definitely on the expensive side.
Overall, we enjoyed the experience much more than the beachfront restaurants. If you don’t need the sea view, I would definitely consider restaurants like this one instead.
We were only in Afytos for 4 days and saved this one until last.
Absolutely amazing!!!
The service and advice on dishes was excellent.
However the most important thing is the food.
This was one of those menus that you could pick anything and it will be great, if I say the taramasalata was definitely the best I have ever had that is not an understatement.
A little more expensive than the rest but it really is worth it.
Definitely go.
