My husband and I witnessed the worst manager in this club bullying young girls last night. The story is… a mentioned to my husband that a candle on the next table had just went on caught a big flame (likely due to the staff just keep adding candles into candle holders full of wax) and there was two young girls at the bale maybe late teens at most. They were talking and clearly did not notice, as I said this, someone who I found out to be the manager with a pony tail came up to them and started screaming in their faces aboutcrhe candle, they had no idea what he was screaming. He then walked away and came back and started screaming again asking if they would start a for in their own house and they tried to explain they had not noticed which I observed. They were apologising for not noticing too. So he went and I asked wee they ok as they were clearly upset and then rep bounded came over to remove them for “starting a fire” they explained they didn’t notice and then my husband also explained that they did not light it and stated that we saw the flame rise. The bouncer took this on board and went back to manager and he sent ten em back with plastic cups to remove girls. My husband intervened and said it wasn’t fair as it did not happen and he also explained to Boucher how rude and out ignorant the manager was and Boucher said there was nothing he could do as it was managers instructions to remove them. At this stage the girls weee frightened and crying and we decided to leave due to the managements behaviour. I went to manager and explained the situation but funny enough, he wasn’t so quick to scream in my face. Them kids weee kicked out because of his ignorance bad mismanagement. I reached out to the management who have ignored me so I am putting this up here to warn people about the bullying tactics of the manager to young people
Still the best live venues in Belfast. It's as old as time itself. I've seen comedy gigs, metal nights, drum n bass, house music, hard techno. There's always something on upstairs. Downstairs there's a youthful, alternative atmosphere and it's a great place for a few beers during the day. The upstairs venue goes into the wee hours of the night. The Ulster sports bar is an institution amongst locals. I would highly recommend it to tourists and there's tons of cool swag to purchase.
